The Core Series 10'' Subwoofer is probably the weakest part of the core series as it lacks some much needed punch and low end. The provided cable is subpar and cannot sustain at or under 40Hz in the frequency. Once you replace that cable with a thicker more premium cable, you should expect 8-10Hz lower, but not the 28Hz that it's rated at. The power of this unit is very underwhelming and I found myself cranking it near max to start to enjoy it. In my setting, it was being used in a large living room space with open walls into the kitchen, so for that type of scenario I would look at something with a little more power. Overall, this unit is very bland to me, it lacks in low end and isn't very powerful at all. This subwoofer, when half off is a good choice for small to medium sized rooms or for a computer setup. The performance in movies is not very impressive in larger rooms and for music doesn't hit those lower notes that most other 10'' can easily hit accomplish. I ended up using it for a bedroom and putting a 12'' Klipsch in our living room.
