I was deciding on surround speakers for my system and i found these on sale and decided to give them a shot. So far I’m getting a nice clean sound for the task of surround i have them on but i can definitely see them doing a fine job as fronts with a good sub.

At regular price, an excellent speaker. At the occasional sale price of $75 a pair, you're getting a good-looking pair of bookshelf speakers that are easy to drive, with top-end clarity, midrange and bass you wouldn't expect at this price level. I've put them up against Klipsch R-41M, Emotiva B1+, Micca RB42, and others - the Sony's came out on top every time. Those speakers I mentioned are great in their own right, however. For a company that makes literally every type of electronic gadget out there, they really hit it out of the park with these. Things I don't line about them: -kinda frumpy grille design and cabinet wrap, best to leave the grilles off -not so good at very high volumes or when exceeding their power rating

These speakers sound great in conjunction with their surround speakers and subwoofer and central speakers, They come very nicely protected in their big boxes and were a breeze to install. The mesh can be removed so you can see the innards of the speaker. The speaker cables comes separate as well, and screw in plugs are used so they are banana plug compatible. Overall a great purchase! I would wait for a sales event though, buying them regular price I think they are a little overpriced. These can be setup to sound in regular sound, not surround, so in a party they sound really loud like the floor standing speakers!

Sony is one of my favorite speakers and they reall make my music and tv sound so good plenty of places to put them because they are small would buy again.

These bookshelf speakers are great in size The sound is excellent when paired with the right and left speakers I have had them installed for two days and could not be more pleased with the sound

Nice smooth sound! I am using them for background speakers over the couch . Nice bass, as well as treble. They completely make a nice sound watching a movie- providing a full range experience

Decided to do surround sound using sony receiver shelf speakers and a nice subwoofer. Chose these speakers as front left and right and they are really good. Great sound for the price. Def better than any sound bar. Good deep clear sound. Would recommend to anyone who wants to upgrade from sound bar ro traditional surround sound. Also great for music. I paired with klipsch 12 inch subwooofer and the sound is awesome. Shakes my house on mid level volume.

The hype is real. Best (current) bang for buck in a bookshelf unit. Price fluctuates but even at $150 they're a good deal. (A) (B'd) next to some Polk Audio T15's and it wasn't even close...

I bought these speakers not expecting to much but I was pleasantly surprised. The sound is crisp but it still has enough bass to sound good. Set up was very simple. Took about 5 minutes.

The speakers are the perfect size for a cabinet, blending right into the space. The sound quality is just as good, if not better, then the four foot speakers they replaced. Love them and will buy again for a basement sound system.

Great sound, easy to set up, haven't had any problems with them after over two years of use. Perfect if you want to upgrade your entertainment audio without breaking the bank.

Bought these along to upgrade from Yamaha satellite speakers I had hooked to Sony STRDH720 7.1 Channel 3D AV Receiver and Samsung Ultra HD 4KTV UN60KU6300FXZA. A little bigger than expected, but great accompanied with Polk PSW505 sub and matching set Sony center speaker SSCS8. Clear as day, crisp sound, with great highs and lows. Had no complaints with old Yamaha center, satellite speakers, and sub previously had, but this set up blows it out the water!! Better more complete quality sound. Keep in mind these are bookshelf speakers and a decent size. Using them as left and right speakers on VIVO stands. Quality sound without having to overpay..

I purchased a pair of Sony Core bookshelf speakers with a Sony STRDH190 stereo receiver originally for my home office. I have since moved them to my bedroom. For a budget speaker, they are really nice. Build quality is good. Sound quality is impressive at normal listening volumes. They can crank too when you want to rock out. I've owned them for more than a year. I use them on a daily basis, and have had zero issues with the speakers or receiver.

Great set of speakers without crushing the bank. These were an upgrade from some smaller old insignia speakers. Wow what a difference! We paired them with a Onyko NR696 , we formerly had a Sony Receiver. These things paired outstandingly! High recommended. Next up is to upgrade the rear surround.

The thing is a unicorn.. Just add a subwoofer you will not regret it. I heard details in tracks I'd never heard before.These are tracks i've listened to for fifty years .

These speakers were a pleasant surprise they are little speakers, but they deliver a big sound, especially in the mid range area, voices guitars…anything in that range, sound, crystal clear I swear when I close my eyes I could almost picture the artist performing in my living room just for me, they are the best purchases I ever made in my life, if you buy these speakers, I guarantee you you won’t be disappointed you’ll be surprised, but you won’t be disappointed.

These are awesome speakers for the need. I use them as book shelf speakers. Attached a Bluetooth amplifier to it to make them wireless and they sound high end. Great value for the price.

Great little speakers. Added to my Victrola for additional sound to the system. Glad I did. Sounds clear and looks good with or without the covers. Designed right to sound good under 100W.
