I was not expecting to to like this tower speaker, especially after reading and watching negative so many negative reviews. But for the price, I purchased a set, a gave them a try. My opinion has completely changed! Initially, I had a pair of Sony SSCS5's but after break-in, and trying to get them "dialed in" for my living room, they were always lacking in the lower mid-range frequency. Well, these tower speakers did the trick! Music and movies are audibly clear, smooth sounding, and blend well with my subwoofer. A great purchase for the price and sound quality.

I purchased one to verify the sound with the receiver. I would recommend buying two for the full sound needed while playing music. I did not know better. I will be purchasing the second one and later the subwoofer. I don’t believe the subwoofer is needed. The base and sound alone is fantastic!

These are excellent speakers that outperform others that are 2-3 times the price. Highly recommend.

For the money this is a great value. The sound is just fine for the small room I am using them in. I am a sound snob and expect great quality. These are just about there. I am totally happy with the purchase and encourage anyone to buy them for such a great price if you are not using them for a large space.

I'm building a home theater system and these Sony front speakers definitely delivers clear sound and doesnt take up a lot of space. I recommend these speakers!

Sounds quality is amazing and can really transform your entertainment center. I usually max out volume but ever have to with a set of these speakers. Really a great buy.

Love these speakers! The sound is great. The only drawback is that since the speakers are so narrow, they are unstable on our medium pile carpet. Having cats, we were worried about them getting knocked over. We used wood, painted it black, & created a base for each of the speakers. They are much more stable now.

Comparable to the Boston Acoustics I already had. For the price (Black Friday deal) they are outstanding. Does a decent job of filling a large room with sound, and the highs are pretty clear.

This is a great speaker for the price! Got this on black Friday for $100... it sounds powerful and clear over the small Onkyo's that it replaced! Highly recommended it to anybody that wants to upgrade on a budget, especially if you're purchasing it on Black Friday! Definitely a bargain for $100!

I have mostly all Sony Products and these speaker were a great buy. The sound treble and bass are superb blasting from the tweeters and box. excellent product for my new vinyl record collection

These speakers punch way above their weight. The key is to have a good subwoofer to go with them. I listen to mine with an SVS subwoofer and it is a great combination? Are these audiophile speaker? Nope. Do they make for a good 2.1 system, I think so.

Picked these bad it’s up on sale and it blew me away with the sound. Excellent product for the price. They also look really nice!

I had a 5.1 setup with 2 Polk front L&R speakers, a 10” Polk subwoofer and 2 Bose rear L&R speakers. One of the Bose speakers blew, so I decided I would just buy 4 new matching speakers to replace the front and rear. I bought these Sony floor speakers on sale for $99/pair. Just having these two speakers and my existing Polk subwoofer completely surprised me- the sound was incredible. There were sounds all around the room that I never heard with both front and rear speakers. I don’t even see the need at this point to buy rear speakers because the sound coming from the Sony floor speakers is THAT GOOD!

I purchased these hoping to give some new life to an underpowered home theater area that is now less used. Had original Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker set purchased yrs ago and have been underwhelmed by those since then - was hoping to replace front left/right speakers with these. Sound quality was better, but thinking that to really get a boost would have had to replace my older Onkyo 85W/chnl receiver with something better, and really wasn't wanting to replace that much at the moment, so with some reluctance I returned these. BB made the purchase and the return super easy.

Not an audiophile, just wanted “good, solid speakers” for the family living room. Auditioned some of the better rated speakers in the price range (Polk T-50, Pioneer Andrew Jones, Onkyo 4800) and they didn’t sound any better than these. Best Buy had these Sony SSCCS3 Core Series on sale for 50% off, so it was a no brainer....$100 ea, Hooked them up, very happy with them.....clear, spatial, room filling sound, with a nice presence. They are in the family room of an open, two-story house and clear sound can fill the whole house. Did not need to spend $500+ for very good sound. Amazon reviewers are at 92% for combined 4*/5* reviews.

Nice clean sound. Smart looking and they do not take a lot of floor space.

I bought both the Polk T50 and Sony SSCS3 speakers. Hooked both up to my stereo and compared their sound. The Sony speakers sounded much clearer, especially with acoustic vocal music. The Polks sounded hollow, probably due to cabinet resonance. The easiest way to explain it is that the Sony speakers sounded real, the Polks sounded like speakers. I returned the Polks and kept the Sony SSCS3 speakers.

I use these with a 2.0 amp and turntable for my vinyls and they sound amazing! Really well balanced especially with the level of bass they produce I was impressed!
