Auto mode produces very good pictures automatically depending the scenes.

The camera takes great photos, including in low light. However, the lack of a better zoom is a disappointment.

Purchased for my spouse as a birthday present. The camera is very small and lightweight - - perfect for street photography. She reports menu choices are similar or same as Sony's full size DSLR cameras. Takes fantastic photos. Battery lasts reasonable amount of time, but she always carries a spare.

As other reviews indicate, the pictures and video are amazing. However, after powering on the camera (on several different occasions), the side where the battery is located gets really hot. Even after just a couple of minutes. I've never had a camera do this before. Maybe I got lemon?

Easy to use yet more than just simple point and shoot camera.

I call this the "Everything you would want in a camera, camera." But at this price point you could get a much better value in getting a DSLR that you can grow with. The RX100v is super expensive for what it does but not for what it includes. What I mean by that is that it packs a ton of great stuff in it l like a viewfinder, ND filter, slow motion, etc. But at the end of the day what it does is takes pictures. $1k for just pictures and sometimes video is too pricey. A Honda gets you to Walgreens just as fast and safe as a BMW. And as usual the elephant in the room is 4k video. I don't have a single device in my home that can "see" in 4k resolution. And I don't think I will for a few years. By that time there will be better and cheaper cameras than the RX100v. Note: I bought this camera used. Although the box said it had all the accessories in it it didn't so make sure it has everything it says it includes.

If you're looking for a small digital camera that can shoot in RAW format as well for professional look photos it works great, and you don't need to carry around a ton of different lenses as you would with a DSLR.

This thing is awesome I returned it and bought a DSLR thinking it would be better and just ended up buying one of these off of eBay six months later because I missed it so much

I bought the camera for my mom and she really liked it but I am not sure if it is worth the price. There are many other options for a thousand dollars and I probably would not buy it for myself. Btw, this camera is a model for America and it is not exactly the same as what you would get in Japan.
