This latest Sony RX 100 camera has excellent advanced features. The optical zoom is increased, the viewfinder opens and shuts with a single click or push to close and maybe the best of all the autofocus is amazing. Depending on the shot, the lens will focus on the dominant object in the middle of the frame, unless you tap the screen to set the area you want in focus. If people are in the frame, it will lock on the faces and when possible, will lock on their eyes for amazing shots. I like the compact size with advanced manual features for creative work. The only negatives I found were; The video button is very small and hard to find if you are using the viewfinder to take a video and the camera is somewhat slippery to hold. I tried the leather screw-on case but didn’t like the long neck strap and the large screw on the bottom caused you to lay the camera on the lens or LCD screen. I added the Sony stick-on grip to the front and that helps. I’ve had several Sony cameras and this is the best by far.

Absolutely love the camera. Tried out an a6400 before this one and while that one is a solid camera as well, the RX100vii is an amazing compact digital camera. The size of this thing is its best advantage and my favorite thing about it. And the shots are just crisp as can be love it

I've had the RX100 VII for almost a month now, and still feel like I have barely scratched the surface of its capabilities. I was searching for something with the portability of a cell phone and the image quality of a mirrorless camera, and this little thing covers all bases admirably. It's not a cheap camera, but you get so many features for the price.

When I don't feel like carrying my A7R III I grab my RX100 VII. This camera takes video footage and photos the fit it well with footage and photos taken with my A7R III but it's a lot easier to carry around and less intimidating to others when I'm out and about. Well it use to be less intimidating to others when I'm out but now I've added a small cage to it so I could also attach a light and an external mic to it. The high quality footage I get from this camera is awesome! I also own the older RX100 V an and the RX100 VI. - 24-200mm is great for all day walk around camera - Touch screen perfect for use when vlogging - Most welcomed upgrade is the port for plugging in an external mic Only thing missing is that the older V was 1.8 and this one is 2.8 which should mean the older version V should be better in low light but so far (without testing) I haven't really noticed it.

Pros: This little camera is perfect for travelers. It's small enough to fit your pocket, but powerful enough to take a high-resolution picture (15 MB). It gives you a sharp image. The cons are that it needs lots of light to produce good-quality photos and that the price is high compared to the other point-and-shoot cameras.

I bought this camera for a vacation abroad. I have very little experience in photography but I found this to be pretty easy to use, especially once I got used to the menu system. At first I wasn't over the moon about the image quality using auto but once I started to get the hang of settings using P mode, controlling Fstop and shutter speed and letting the camera set the ISO, I was really happy with the images. I know this is an expensive purchase but in all honesty, I felt like it was well worth it. I highly recommend getting another battery and the little stick on grip that Sony sells for this.

I had hoped for a very small, feature-laden digital camera with plenty of optical zoom, and that's exactly what I got. I've used Canon SLRs in the past for vacations, family events, etc., but I grew tired of having to lug around a big, bulky camera. Over the past few years I've been using the nicer iPhones, and while they're really great at taking pictures under most conditions, the absence of an optical zoom and the small aperture for night shots left me wanting more on so many occasions. I would likely have been happy enough with one of the previous models, but the new VII took the optical zoom from 3x to 8x... and I just couldn't pass that up considering having a good optical zoom was one of my top priorities. The RX100 VII was about double what I wanted to spend, but I didn't want to compromise on features and end up with a camera that I would often wish had feature X or feature Y, so I just went for it. And I'm glad I did. I don't know how Sony managed to cram everything into a camera that slides into a front pants pocket, but I'm glad they did.

I got this camera few days before my trip to New York! The whole trip was made picture perfect because of this camera. I have no regrets getting this one it was worth the price! Amazing photos no edits needed

This is the BEST CAMERA!! The amount of compliments i have received from it with the pictures it takes is amazing. My friends get to excited when they see that i have the camera with me because they know the pictures are about to be 10/10.

I purchased the Sony RX100 VII just a week before going on vacation with my granddaughters to Dollywood. While using it there, I kept it on autofocus the entire time, and the pictures were crystal clear and always in focus. It is the perfect size for travel and very easy to carry in your pocket or a small day pack.

Great point and shoot camera. Can’t say that it matches up to a DSLR, but I don’t carry the DSLR much. The higher end phones take arguably batter shots at normal focal length, but you of course can’t zoom. I don’t regret the purchase. Takes very fast snaps. See the attached photos. The close ups of the turtles are at max zoom, so that was punching the limits. I only put 4 stars because the price makes it a tough decision, I am happy with it though.

It's a good camera. Taking shots is awesome. Perfectly taken even if you're not a professional photographer. So handy and you can carry it anytime, anywhere

I have had, and still have, a number of high end cameras and have been photographing hikes, birds, and horses for well over 30 years. Many of my best photographs have been taken with a Nikon 9000 pocket camera. I replaced it with this camera. Considering that it is a pocket size camera, its capabilities are stunning. I use the pocket camera on horseback rides. Quick focus and one handed operation are essential for my main usage and this camera fills the bill. Composition using the display is aided by the exceptional quality and brightness of the display. I always put the photos I intend to keep through Photoshop for cropping, exposure adjustment, etc. I find that exposure correction using this camera tends to be usually unnecessary. It’s zoom is adequate for my purposes, but it will not replace my Nikon and Sony zoom digital cameras for photographing birds. It will work quite well for the deer families that spend spring and summer in my yard. I have found video from horseback to be much higher quality and more steady than I expected.

After drooling over this camera for the last two years every time I walked by it at Best Buy, I finally pulled the trigger on purchasing it at the end of May 2022. I've have the RX100IV, V, and VI, but the VII blows the older models out of the water. Finally freed of the 5 minute time limit for 4K videos has completely revolutionized that way I can film events. I have recorded up to a 52 minute video and the "failure mode" is that the fully charged battery I started with is depleted. I have plans to sell my used older models of this camera to pitch in towards a second RX100VII. 10 of 10 would highly recommend!

Great camera for every day. Has captured some really great moments and was easy to learn to navigate as a first time Sony camera owner. Highly recommend!
