Best of the "pocketable" zooms but expensive.

The zoom length, focusing, color output, and speed is fantastic. In my opinion, this is the best of these cameras and they do hold their value well. The capabilities for such a small, pocketable camera are amazing. The reviews tell the whole story for this camera. The only "issue", which would be relevant to any of these types/size cameras, is keeping it steady while shooting. Because of its small size and weight, it is hard to get a stable grip for hand-held shots, especially when zoomed out. There is a small grip available that can be attached to the front which drastically helps to hold on to the small camera.

Great size, great pics

I have always had a large camera and multiple lenses, but I got tired of lugging all that equipment around all day at a theme park. The size and photo quality are excellent. It was actually almost too small to fit well in my hand, but I found a custom sized grip to attach to it on amazon and now it fits perfectly. A little pricey, but it is rated as the best camera of it's size.

Great travel Camera

Love the compact size & quality for a small sensor

As an owned of many Sony Alpha cameras, I don't want to lug around a full-frame body to concerts I'm enjoying or vacations I'm taking. Amazing camera for different range of users

The problem is I need to carry the camera along with one or two lenses which are weighty. This camera is small to carry around and takes amazing pictures. It also has option of choosing the camera setting if one wants. It takes amazing pictures and also shoots 4K videos. Best to take family pictures such as sports. The only thing missing is Sony failed to include printed manual (has it online).

I have owned quite a few of them. This one is an improvement. Autofocus is fast. The lens seems to be very sharp, and I feel that the Sony colors are getting better and better. If you read books on how to use the camera, you would not believe all of the "advanced" features it has. The small optional grip that can be attached to the camera provides a better feel -giving you a better hold. I compared the same photos I took with a micro four thirds and APSC camera, and I really don't see much of a difference in image quality (especially sharpness). It's a great very pocketable travel camera. What's good also is that it's deceiving. People that are not knowledgeable would not realize how high end it is.

It does everything my old Rebel from last century does but without the extra lenses.

Good travel camera

It can produce high quality pictures and video. Get an extra battery or two if you plan on a lot of video. Zoom and focusing features make it a great camera. Get the leather case it makes carrying the camera easy.

Expensive but very capable point and shoot

On the other hand, there are very few truly pocketable point and shoots that can do what this little camera can do. Nice telephoto and shoots both photos and video. Has a small built in flash. Works well with separate Sony shooting grip GP-VPT2BT with internal bluetooth connection.
