The camera is good, but the battery isn't good. I used for two hours and the baterry die. I am thinking buy another battery and if the problem persist, return the camera.

It’s a great camera, for beginners all you have to do is keep the mode on auto and you are ready to go 95% of the time. There’s a lot under the hood and if you have the time and want to learn this camera can beat some mirrorless cameras on the market today

i had an rx100 for many years...great camera...but decided to upgrade....even tho the markvii is a 2019 model i noticed it was still on alot of top 5 lists,,,,couldn't be happier....a little pricey but yolo!

As an avid and experienced photographer, I needed something really compact to for travel. Despite the size, the image quality is fabulous. I love the ability to customize to my use and it's extremely fast focusing. This is my new travel companion. My only suggestion is purchasing an aftermarket grip, as it can feel a little small.

The zoom is making this the single camera on your trips. Compact and feature rich

Maybe you'll ask, why only 3 stars? Well, I am reviewing this in August 2022, I have this camera for about a year now, and in my opinion, this camera is no longer impressive in 2022. For background, I do own Sony full frame and APS-C cameras as well as a couple of Fujifilms, so I know my way around cameras, and one of the reasons I bought this is the form factor and focal range. It does excel in form factor and reach, but when it comes to image quality, it's just on par with the new iPhones. So, for the price, it would just be better to buy an iPhone if you don't really need the zoom range. But I still won't sell my RX100 because of the RAW files. The convenience of having a compact camera that can produce good quality RAW files is what makes me hold on to this camera. But if you will just shoot and use the JPEGS, just get an iPhone and save money. Or just add a little more and get the Sony A6600.

You will want to take this everywhere. It takes sharp pictures with brilliant color the Zeiss zoom now reaches 200mm. It has a touch screen and there is a pop-up viewfinder if you want to use it. Both focusing and writing to memory card is fast. This is the seventh iteration - hence the VII. It has evolved into a superb camera. Some dislikes: it came without a handgrip -why? Sony probably saved 2 cents on each camera and I looked at two $20 addons that weren’t satisfactory. It’s tough without the grip. Small and slippery like a bar of soap. The little doors to access USB etc are cheap plastic junk-very easy to snap off. NO RAW (!). Sony menus are not intuitive. The on/off button is recessed but is easy to turn on when you put the camera in your pocket. Needs a safety or lock. If accidentally activated in your pocket the zoom tries to open.

The camera is unbelievable! I bought it mostly to be able to take it with me into arenas and stadiums for concerts and the results did not disappoint.

I like the VII it has a 3mm jack & articulating screen (unfolds up top). The settings can be daunting and you need to really go thru the Fn and Menu (picture & video). IMHO, got to go thru it at least twice to just get the basics. There are nuances that you (I) may just overlook. I.E. got to figure out if I can close the viewfinder and keep camera on...it turns off if using viewfinder and then close. I've been "dry firing"...pulling it up...turn on and knowing that I have it at the appropriate picture setting and video setting and pressing the appropriate buttons. Like a "point and shoot" knowing that I may have to go into Fn or Menu to set it properly. By the way, the mic works really well and the only problem is when you are in windy conditions. I tested it by recording while in front of a fan...needs wind diffuser or use a LAV mic. This is a rather robust camera but I believe it's worth the price point but it does require your time and attention.
