Not Quite Good Enough

After comparing my iPhone RAW photos and my older Lumix DMC-ZS-100 to this Sony I returned the Sony. Did not believe it was worth the price to me. Normally I use a Canon R5, which is not a fair comparison to this Sony. Would love a small camera that is close to a full frame in quality, not sure there is such a thing.

Not Satisfied At ALL!!!

She read many reviews and felt it would be the best camera fr what she would be shooting. Unfortunately she went to use it for the first time and it did not work. an error message appeared and she was never able to use it. Getting in touch with Sony is impossible, you are not able to speak with a live agent. every aspect of trying to figure out a solution has been a long drawn out process, unfortunately i did not buy the geek squad warranty because i figured the camera had its own warranty, BIG Mistake!! i will not make that mistake again. Sadly the camera is a lemon and we are still waiting for the situation to be solved.

Highly respected small camera

More importantly, it has a 1 inch sensor and a great zoom lens.

This has a huge learning curve for me as this is my first mirrorless camera. I usually shoot a Nikon D750 DSLR. This camera has so many features that I've spent lots of time watching youtube videos to learn how to use all the features of this camera. My only disappointment so far is that low-light shots have lots of noise. Still learning the camera so I may in time be able to overcome this flaw.

Travel camera

Ended up returning because on 2 separate occasions the camera totally froze where I had to remove the battery to reset. This was an open box so I don't know if this a common issue with this model or just a one off issue. I have an older MIV and it had never frozen up even tough it would overheat. I can say the MVII is noticably faster, focuses better ( less prone to hunting) and I never had it overheat. But I was using it in cool temperatures so that was a factor. I really like the super zoom range vs the older models, more than I thought I would. I can't say the picture quality is much improved, but it is great on the MIV too. I have heard of people complaining it is too small and easy to drop. I do not have this issue, but I have a 2 price case protector that gives a better grip and I use a wrist strap as a precaution.

The recording may also be stopping and going back to Standby mode maybe because the Movie button is inadvertently being pressed while recording.
