I cannot believe how much better this one is at toning down background noises. That Olympus was horrible.This is just a little pocket recorder, not a recording studio (so it's not perfect) but it serves the purpose of recording meetings, that I need it for. Very convenient. It hooks directly into a computer by USB for transfer and archiving audio files.

I need it to be instant on without delay. That's why I DO NOT use my iPhone voice memo app. To code in, find the app and trigger it is an eternity when ideas are coming fast and furiously. Having misplaced my 5 year old Olympus, the ratings online pointed me to this recorder's predecessor. I'm happy with the sound for voice, but the record button is just junk.

I work long hours and hardly have a chance to read and study. So I bought this device so I could record my self when I read chapters from my CDL handbook. Now I can listen while I work. Its worked perfectly. I got my CDL lisence!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when it comes to Nuances of tech it doesn't get much better than having a device in your pocket that allows you to record your thoughts whenever they strike you as important and then plugging it into your USB port and it is read by your Dragon (Nuance) software which converts it into a word document. Certified by Nuance, the timing has to do with being on sale.
