I used this for a class of mine and the recording clarity was superb. You can set it depending on the ambience which is very useful. I highly recommend this product!

The voice detection and recording works well (almost too sensitive because sometimes ambient noise is picked up and recorded due to the sensitive microphone).

Easy to Set Up and Use

I saw about 25 feet away and it was able to record my professor's voice, but although the class was quiet, its kind of hard to make out what is being said. you have to pay attention really well

Posted .Hello Jean! We recommend trying the following changes through the menu of the Voice recorder to improve the recording quality during lectures: Press SCENE in the stop mode. The Scene Select window will be displayed. Select REC MODE then LECTURE, you can also increase the mic sensitivity since it is set as medium as default to HIGH instead by following these steps: In the stop or recording mode, select DISP/MENU - Detail Menu - Mic Sensitivity and then press PLAY/STOP・ENTER, select HIGH for the microphone sensitivity, and then press PLAY/STOP・ENTER.~Jeannette

not voice activated as advertised
