great backup camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is a great compliment to my Fuji FinePix S5 Pro. Its ease of operation, flexibility and outstanding picture quality is worth the price. The only downside is downloading and printing the almost 100 page instruction manual . The quick start guide that came with camera was next to useless. Despite this the camera has worked flawlessly for me.

Good beginner camera!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently got this camera in store. I will admit that I was a little skeptical about buying it based on some of the other reviewers comments, but I decided to purchase it anyway and I am very glad that I did. I love it! This is actually my first camera that I've ever bought, and I found it very easy to use right out of the box. I wanted to make the switch to a camera after importing my phone's pictures onto my laptop and realizing how grainy they looked. After doing the same with this camera, I can safely say that it takes wonderful clear photos! It has many different settings and options to choose from, and all are very easy to navigate through. Other reviewers have complained about the "slow" auto focus and shutter speeds, but I find the speeds to be normal and it works great for me. If it was a more high end type of camera, then maybe I would understand the complaints but for the price of this camera, I think it was a very good deal. As a beginner camera, I highly recommend this camera to anyone who is interested!

Poor Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t fall for the advertised 20MP resolution. An 8 MP iPhone camera gives better results.

Posted .Hi Baddad49, thanks for letting us know about your concern. If photos appear grainy or fuzzy with picture noise, please perform the following steps:
1. First clean the front of the camera lens to make sure the issue is not being caused by dust, dirt, spots, or watermarks.
2. This also can occur when using a high ISO setting. It is typically more visible when shooting in dark or poorly illuminated areas. Whether the ISO is set manually or automatically by the camera, high ISO settings make the image sensor more sensitive to light. However, while the image sensor becomes more sensitive to light, high ISO settings also make pictures more susceptible to picture noise. This is normal with digital photography; film cameras can encounter the same thing when using faster speed film.
3. The following are a couple of recommendations to reduce this issue:
- If using the automatic setting on the camera, make sure you are shooting in a well-lit environment if possible.
- When using manual settings, lowering the ISO setting and using the flash is suggested - providing your subject is not too far away.
NOTE: Some cameras have a noise reduction feature that helps counter picture noise when using a high ISO setting.
Your feedback is highly appreciated. Regards, Dave

Just what I was looking for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using this wonderful camera to shoot items for sale. Wonderful attention to detail, easy to use. good quality photos but no viewfinder
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was given to me as a gift and was not the camera that I, personally, would have purchased. It takes great quality photos when I can focus in! Most of my pictures are of nature/wildlife & the missing view-finder makes it nearly impossible, for me, to get a clear (if any) shot of birds in flight, etc...

Excellent camera for a novice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera for the zoom feature. I am very impressed how well the camera focus at maximum zoom. The camera also takes nice and clear pictures, even at maximum digital zoom. I brought the camera on sale for $168, plus taxes. The camera was well worth it. The only negative report is there are few manual settings than my Kodak camera has, but I like the Sony camera so much more. I use rechargeable nickel batteries, the battery life last a long time. I recommend this camera if you are a novice photographer. I also recommend to download a PDF manual, it is very helpful and will help you to learn the functions of your camera.

VERY UNHAPPY...DISAPPOINTED...BAD CAMERA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first review was in March as a 4 star right after purchase before I began using. I am now waiting on repair of SECOND camera because first one ad same issues and was within 15 days. Recurring problem with error msg "turn off and then back on" happening at anytime. Camera won't function til after this "reboot" several times even in the middle of using. Camera malfunctioned at daughter's graduation this past Tues. Also drains batteries EXCESSIVELY and problems focusing. Exact same problems with first one, and after further research of reviews of other Sony Point and Shoot cameras, same issues. I should get camera back in two weeks or $$ back if they scrap it. Bottom line, Sony has a problem obviously somewhere in chipset or something and not fixing it At this time I CANNOT RECOMMEND SONY POINT AND SHOOT CAMERAS. BUMMER. seemed like nice camera with nice features and perfect for daughter's events, but OBVIOUSLY NOT!
