I bought this for my mother-in-law who could no longer develop film in her hometown drugstore. The switch to digital had to be simple enough for her to use and for me to support-- Sony makes a very intuitive simple camera interface, yet takes nice quality pictures.

Have two of these. Bought to carry on the road - often take work photos and don't want to use my phone. Quick and easy to use, small so it fits in pockets. Point and shoot. Doesn't save file as quick as others.

This little light weight, compact camera is excellent for taking landscape images or other personal photos plus it has the capability of taking good sharp images at a very close range...great for taking pictures of detail work.

I purchased this camera because I was having a baby and wanted better quality pictures than a phone camera can produce. I didn't research any cameras prior to buying it. I was actually at Best Buy getting something else and figured, while I was there, why not. The cameras are all displayed but a lot of them you can't take pictures to test them out, which looking back, is slightly annoying. What I was looking for was an inexpensive point and shoot that was small enough to fit in my pocket and produced good pictures. Well the size part was a win. I love the size of the camera. It can easily be placed in my pocket and is not uncomfortable. I can bring this camera around everywhere with me. This was a win. The camera was 20.1 mp so I assumed it would be great. My conclusion (without having any actually printed yet) is that a lot of my pictures come out blurry, no matter what setting I use, and I have pretty much used them all. One of them and I ended up looking better. Another problem I had with the camera is the red eye. You can turn on the red eye reduction, but it still shows up. You would think in 2015 that they would have figured out how to completely eliminate this. My final issue is how long it takes to take the picture. You push the button and you wait several second...often missing the moment. I would not recommend this camera to anyone.

Most of the people use smart phones as occasionally cameras. That's more than OK. But if you need more and don't want to keep your hands busy with big camera - Sony compact is what you only need. Especially when you need to zoom or do pictures with flash

The W830 takes great pictures and the operating features are mostly intuitive. It charges relatively rapidly and holds a charge for quite a long time - I haven't had a problem with the battery getting too low yet. Of course I make sure I charge after extended use.

This was not the camera I went out to purchase, but it impressed me with the features for the price. The store was out of stock but they had one on hand in five days. Only problem was the plug in charger did not work but the store tech was able to find the problem and replace the adapter on the spot. Easy to use and no more AA batteries ..yeah

This is a great point and shoot camera that is easy to use. It takes good quality photos and is rechargeable so it doesn't waste batteries. It's small and compact so it can easily fit in a pocket. Great camera for the price!
