The only thing I could say that might be a "con" would be that I don't sense as much "Bass" as the original pair that came with my MP3 player. Also, the plug-in is at a 90 degree angle: something to keep in mind if you need one that is "straight in" or "non-angled". I'm guessing the more expensive Ear Buds provide a better sound as far as the "Mega Bass" that Sony is known for. But, it's still a good, durable pair if you don't care about that.

for just your everyday earphones they are decent

They do not fit into your phone with an otter box or mophie like some do, you must have the adapter, but for working in the yard or just keeping the noise out at cheer comps, they will do just fine.
