The loudness as well as the sound quality of this speaker will depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. Also, take note that sound becomes low while in use when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor.
Your speaker features Stereo Pair function. If you want an even bigger sound, we recommend pairing our SRS-XB13 to another SRS-XB13. You may check out the following link for more details:

No, you can't compare it to a "DJ speaker". You can't feel the base but you can hear it nicely without distortion (at the right volume). As stated in another review, it fills the room. It does so with a nice quality sound...and you can use it for calls too...A+! I'm looking for a reason to purchase another one in a different color : )
