Thank you for the feedback and we're sorry what happen with the battery of your speaker. The built-in battery life of the speaker depends on how you use it. Actual performance time may vary from the listed time due to the volume, songs played, surrounding temperature, and usage conditions.
The rechargeable built-in battery has a life span. As time passes and the number of times that the built-in battery is used increases, the capacity of the rechargeable built-in battery slowly decreases. When the amount of time that the built-in battery can be used seems significantly shorter, despite having been fully charged. When the amount of time that the built-in battery can be used seems significantly shorter, it could mean that the rechargeable built-in battery has expired.

We do apologize for the sound quality issue that you're experiencing with the speaker. The loudness as well as the sound quality of this speaker will depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. Also, take note that sound becomes low while in use when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor.

Cute travel speaker! Great sound!

I bought this for a trip to Greece and we used it everyday poolside and in the villa. It's easy to use and connect to any phone. The sound was excellent! Compares to our home Sonos speakers! Cute color and battery life seemed to last awhile.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In the box is the portable speaker, usb-c charge cord, quick start guide and general information guide. Out of the box, I noticed the rubber buttons and the rubber stop for the charge port. This speaker is strictly Bluetooth, no plugs, the audio in plug is now gone. Turn on the speaker with the power button and sync and your good to go. I attempted to connect to Sony Music app but was unsuccessful because the speaker would pop up but would not stay. The speaker is super light and the woven cord is definitely strong enough to hold the speaker. There is a little notch on the wristlet that you undo to attach the speaker to a bag but you have to unhook it a certain way to undo it. No worries, it will not come apart on its own. The battery life of the speaker is great. So far I have been listening about 15 hours and I still haven’t had to charge yet. (I charged out of the box.) There is a battery indicator in the widgets on my iPhone that tells you how much battery is left. The sound in my opinion is just okay. The bass is definitely there but I feel like the sound could be better. This speaker would be great for a dorm room with a roommate or a hotel room because even at a higher volume, the speaker is not blasting sound. Overall, I love the design but I wish the speaker played a little louder. I probably wouldn’t buy again but I would highly recommend to my friends and family that travel and stay at hotels and/or my friends with college students.

Broke down my top thoughts about it into bullet points. 1) Way smaller than expected, but that allows for better portability for sure! 2) Tries to push a little too much bass for its size, and gets buzzy sometimes. 3) Volume isn't crazy loud if outdoors, but enough to hear throughout my 3 car garage. 4) Overall very good sound for size of speaker!

Packaging is typical Sony, which means very safely packed. Charging is simple with the supplied USB C Cable. Pairing with your phone is also simple and straightforward, i paired mine with an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Now to the sound...two words...HOLY MACKERAL! I truly did not expect to hear the sound and bass quality that the Sony - XB13 EXTRA BASS produces and it sure lives up to its name. Sound is rich and not muddy, highs sound great and its just overall a fantastic little speaker. Its waterproof so thats a bonus and it has a convenient carrying strap thats included. I also use the Sony - XB13 EXTRA BASS for phone calls and its performance for me was stellar with calls as well. The only complaint I have and its a minor one is the included USB C cable is very short, it could have been a little longer, I do have other longer cables but it would have been nice to have this one be slightly longer. I cant say enough good things about this great little speaker.

Currently my setup is just to accompany my ipad when I’m watching movies which is mounted on my headboard on a gooseneck clamp, and the speaker has a strap and I just looped it around the gooseneck pole. It does have some decent base. But also as other reviewers say, it can fit in a cup holder. I have no doubt that it will. But I also fitted it in my bottle holder of my bike, so i may play music while biking rather than just have my earplugs in. The strap can loop around the bottle holder wire for more peace of mind, but I mainly bike on roads or just cruising, nothing extreme. Quick power on/off and pairing is easy, great material and quality. This can be taken anywhere; relax on the beach with music playing from your phone. With Father’s Day coming up as I’m writing this review late May, would be a great gift!

Posted .Hi 2233, We are sorry to hear that the SRSXB13 did not meet your expectations when it comes to the volume level. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, the sound may become low in the following cases.
-When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.
-When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.
If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
1.Turn off the speaker.
2.Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

Not loud at all

It’s not loud at all, I can literally get the same sound from my iPhone alone. Someone please tell me I can return without the box. If you use the speaker at a max volume (31), the battery will decrease faster. Generally lasting about 5 hours, though the type of music and ambient temperature will effect battery life of any battery operated speaker.
Compare this to about 26 hours of playback time when you turn down the volume to 26. Pretty big difference. Oh, and you can actually charge the XB13 while you play it.
