We're sorry if you're not satisfied with the sound of the speaker. It is unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. If the speaker is still with you, please allow us to help you. For the loudness/volume, this usually depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. Also, take note that sound becomes low while in use when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor.

I would like for it to be a little bit louder but it would probably sacrifice sound quality but it is plenty loud, especially for my primary use and I don’t turn it up all of the way anyway.

It is really unfortunate to hear our XB13 did not live up to your expectations and that it had to be returned. The loudness as well as the sound quality of this speaker will depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. Also, take note that sound becomes low while in use when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor. The SRS-XB13 can also be paired with another SRS-XB13 if you want an even bigger sound.

Although it does produce good bass, it is not loud. Unfortunately, I threw out the box & therefore unable to return the unit. It was a huge disappointment

It quickly became the life of the celebration. I was amazed by the powerful volume and quality this small device produces. It easily connects via Bluetooth and, when fully charged, provides hours of entertainment. I gave my siblings each one at Christmas. Both of them use it at the beach and have no issues with it.

This device is among them, but perhaps not at the top of that list for devices in this category. The Bluetooth pairing was highly efficient as the speaker seemed to connect itself to my device almost immediately upon turning it on for the first time. I later tried paired it on my own to another device, and it still connected very quickly. The physical styling looks more sleek and modern than my older XB10 version of this device. The older version was completely smooth, making you rely on sight to operate appropriately, but this version has slightly raised operating symbols that allow for more tactile operation, especially in dark or dimmer lighting conditions. The sound is only EQ friendly to the Bass, as you can modify Bass response freely, however, it appears to be internally tuned to emphasize treble regardless of EQ settings, so you are not really able to fully emphasize the Bass. There is "enough" bass for an average music lover to be satisfied, but it was not as punchy as its XB10 predecessor in this regard. You get the fullest bass sound by setting your EQ to mono settings instead of stereo, but again, it will be a slightly muted experience if you are looking for truly Extra Bass. There was an app referenced in some of the device documents that arrived in the box, but I was unsuccessful in getting it to connect, and I believe this device is actually not comparable with the app. I'd recommend this for lovers of vocals and treble, and I think it has enough bass for most. It just won't make bass lovers feel like it has Extra Bass. Considering the size, the sound is great for a portable speaker this size, but there are other options for those who want truly expansive bass at this size. I'd recommend, even to bass lovers at this size, although bass lovers have other options in this category of speakers.

When I wash dishes I can barely hear what’s being said. The sound quality is great (meaning no static or anything) and I love the size and look of it but I’m going to return it.
