Great camcorder. I was on vacation and when a camcorder I brought with me did not operate, I had to buy this one. This Sony handycam AX53 was amazing. It was so much better than my older Sony handycam. I am glad I bought this product. Thank you.

Take it out and use it at the store, before taking it home. A few have an issue with 4K or HD at 120fps, it keeps rebooting. The optical stabilization is amazing, and all the auto features work great.... It tends to focus from near to far, so if there is something in the foreground it will pick that. If mine didn't have that issue I'd give it 5 stars!

The 2 axis internal gimbal is remarkable. The "intelligent" mode even detects when it is on a tripod and doesn't interfere. Optics are great. One small quibble is the micro HDMI port. With the weight and bulk of HDMI cables, these tiny sockets are very vulnerable to damage by the wrenching of a heavy cord, so be careful. The wireless camera control via smartphone is nice for starting/stopping the recording and making smooth zooms (Only one zoom speed though). The zoom control on the top of the camera has to be precisely operated to avoid too-rapid zoom actions, but it can be done. The ability to control several features via the lens ring is a great innovation. And yes, the HDMI output works during recording for either an external monitor or a recorder.

This is one of the best camcorders for home purpose as well as to be used for streaming purposes. You would need video capture device like star link or other hdmi to usb converters to connect to PC. the shopping experience with Best Buy was also great.

This camera is a very good investment, I'll explain why is that, the quality is top notch, the frame rate you can choose it has many options, you also can put a bigger storage, for me this camera is more useful for video than dslr cameras.

Sony’s software to edit film is ending. The battery lasts a long time, but the controls are hard to use as touch screen. Also only out is micro hdmi so hard to find. Bought a card reader but that didn’t work. Not user friendly, but I used it right out of the box learning on the fly. The battery lasted 4 hrs of continuous shooting so pleased about that. Hard to edit film without software. Sony doesn’t support Play Memories anymore and could not export edited film to memory card.

Easy to operate, and I was able to record for several hours on 64GB SD card, great picture quality. Very happy with my investment

I had to return this one. The issue was that in night recording, sometimes it won't focus at all. Overall, this is a great camera for day and evening. Quality is superb. Very fast. Just open the screen and start recording in 2 seconds.

I love the viewfinder and the image stabilization. This is a big camcorder that doesn't fit in your pocket easily. It needs a really fast SD card for the highest quality 4K. Where this camera really shines is the ability to start recording right away, the Canon would take almost a minute to read the card, no this Sony! Flip open the touchscreen and its ready to record.

This thing is absolutely legit. Picture quality is fantastic. The coolest feature is how the lens can counteract your movements to remain as level as possible. Not like the old camcorders where you got dizzy watching - this thing softens movement unbelievably well. I'm impressed for sure.

I have had this camera for 1 month now. I have used it for a couple filming projects and I am very happy with the product. I do recommend taking the camera off stability mode when using a tripod or you can get some weird shaky film but other than that, the quality is outstanding. I use the rode video maker wireless setup with a lav mic for filming. I also use a shotgun rode mic and both work very well on the camera

Great quality to the picture when you shoot 4K. Yes it's bigger than your everyday camcorder or even your high end cell phones nowadays but I always believe that there's no replacement for a dedicated device some times. Haven't checked low light performance but daytime performance was crystal clear. Used for our first child's gender reveal party to capture slow motion action video. No regrets.

This is a great camcorder! Easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. Took this to Alaska and I’m so happy I did. I got really good videos.

We have used this mainly for outdoor recording. It has worked flawlessly in low light situations.
