This is definitely not a Red or an Arri and don’t believe people who say it’s like filming with an iPhone because that’s not true either. It’s waaay better. I like this camera because it is not complicated. You just open the door and it is ready. It is not the best in low light and you cannot retract the memory card without turning the camera on. But the battery does much better than expected. Overall great camera.

I have been doing test shots and so far all have gone well. It might be a bit susceptible to a stuttering look when panning fast across things that are vertical. However at the speed you should pan at, it is fine. I was fully prepared to return it, but will instead replace my Canon HF G30 1080 camcorder with this one. I will miss the programmable buttons, and no lanc control, but then again I am no longer doing things as a professional videographer.

We love this camera! We’ve used it to film every event of our daughters life since birthday and everything,e the picture comes out great and captures the moment perfectly. The camera fits my hand perfectly and is still easily usable by my wife with little adjustment. The display is clear and makes filming much easier than using the view finder.

This is definitely not a cheap camcorder, but you get what you pay for. If you want to future proof yourself with the 4K then this is the camcorder to get. It provides a lot of versatility with nightspot, and many different shooting modes. I have been a big fan of the slow motion shooting mode that allows me to analyze my golf swing. Highly Recommended!!!!

This is my second purchase of this model. Easy to use. Love the different shooting mode. The internal mics pick up very well. The auto function on light levels is a bit slow to react, so I use manual settings.

This camera is easy to use and has a great picture quality

I bought this for my daughter's wedding. I have a HD camcorder that doesn't do well in low light. After reading reviews on the AX53 I took the plunge. Very satisfied with the video quality in normal and low light situations. The steady shot lens is fantastic! I highly recommend this camcorder.

The sony ax-53 has preformed to and passed my expectations. The video quality is great. The transfer from camera to computer takes a little longer than I wish but it is a lot of data. I do wish that the camera would record in 4k while displaying the video simultaneously on an external monitor.

I have enjoyed it fully thus far. It cramps your hand at times but it was expected. I appreciate the automatic settings since I just wanted it for basic recording since i’m no expert or have much knowledge on it. I appreciate the option for photos and video that’s a nice touch and night vision is pretty interesting to. I might just be bias since I been wanting this for a while now and finally decided to get it.

Amazing camera with a great 5 axis image stabilization. I’m only giving this a 4 star instead of 5 star because the zoom toggle is too close for where you put your hand through the strap in the camera. I was literally using my other hand to zoom and was unable to keep had to return the product.

Sony did a good job with this camcorder. The Fdr Ax53 is much more advanced than the previous model and its BOSS stabilization deserves to be mentioned ( practically you do not need a tripod in most of situations - the footage is so smooth like a professional one). Good buy.

4K 30p at 100 mbps captures a lot of detail. It also records 1080 at 60p and 120p (for slow motion). It would be 5 stars if you were able to have fully manual abilities. You can manually control 1 setting, but if you want to add another one to control manually, it changes your other selection back to auto. Overall it is a great camcorder.

I love this camera! I took it out with my family on our trip to New York and really captured some great crystal clear footages. I highly recommend this camera to anyone that's looking for a top of the line consumer camera that will definitely do the job for any occasion.

Great camera and perfect for filming sports. The picture is crystal clear when filming day or night.

Im am not a professional in any sense. But this camera is great for me because it takes care of everything just point and shoot. The only complaint I have is when it is on a tripod it turns off image stabilizer and when you go to pan the camera the picture becomes very shaky. But it’s still produces amazing quality videos!
