Great zoom - lots of capability and very good stabilization.

I have been buying video cameras every two years, upgrading to the new technology offerings. This year, this camera was the best product for the money and the features offered. The video quality out shines every other camera I looked at, along with stabilization, being able to hold the camera instead of using a tripod all the time, it has created better shots. The night shots are decent, could be a little better, but on this camera, for the price range, no other camera does better.

The quality is great. Either HD or 4K. Easy to use for sure.

The 4k resolution is superb. Combined with features such as electronic viewfinder (great on sunny days and bright locations such as beach), super slo mo, ability to take and store video in 4K and mp4 ( great for youtube and sending to smart phone and tablet viewers). Microphone control to accentuate or greatly reduce voice of videographer. Hi res photo taking replace need for a camera for stills. Designed to minimize weight, and maximize portability.

Very sharp picture, very noticeable, also when zoomed. Stable video even when hand held and not on a tripod, although I would recommend a tripod for best results. Owners manual seems inadequate, covers the basic but not everything. Must use special SD cards made for 4K video, cannot just use any SD card.. In 4K recording, it takes about 1GB per minute so plan ahead when purchasing an SD card. I don't have a 4K TV yet, but it is very sharp on my current 1080p TV.

We were looking at 1080P camcorders, when the AX53 appeared. With the steady shot and intelligent auto focus, I can now film my 3 year old grand daughter being the active toddler that she is. This camcorder will literally lock on her and smoothly keep up with her. The lens inside just mechanically stays on focus. It can keep up with her, where grandpa can't. The images are superior to any camcorder I have had in the past and I haven't even shot the 4k yet.

I found this to be a pretty simple camera with a lot of user defined function. The battery seems to last fairly good.
