This is an entry level video camera but it has nice features and a quality picture. Its very simple to operate and the battery life is decent.

This Sony is replacing our old Sony camcorder that we've had for over 7 years. It's a great little camcorder, very easy to use and lightweight. Perfect for trips. Also the zoom is fantastic!!

I highly recommend this camera the only complaint I have is the picture quality is not that great but the video quality is awesome. The reviews on this camera on the web search came highly recommended and I agree.

After finally seeing my last analog video camera die (antiques), I wanted to start simple with my first digital video camera. I've always been a fan of Sony's video equipment, and decided to go with their most simple model for starters. I love the light weight feel, and the videos I have taken so far are beautiful. For a reasonable first step into the digital video world, this is the best model to start with.

Great video quality. Simple to operate. Photo, video and playback features are easy to access and use. Lightweight but very versatile.

Say it with me again, it is ONLY $240 and so there, "Rating: Excellent" for $240. I played with mine (stop it!) for about an hour and figured it out. Thank goodness I have a background in psychology because, this Sony is shy! You'll read bad reviews stating, "Color is washed out" and crap like that. Truth is, it comes setup out of the box at half-capability, that's true! Here, lemme show you... I right clicked on the movie file I imported very easily into Windows Photos and it stated 30fps and I could tell the camcorder wasn't giving me TRUE HD, and yes, the colors were boring. I found setting for XAVC S (true HD) and it said, if you choose me, you won't be able to take photos while taking movies!! I don't care, at all. BAM! Full HD and it's nice. I turned the filter on for vivid color (it's in the photo features and they work in video mode as well, got some weird name but, click and boom, all pretty color. Movies are better than with my Samsung S21 I had and distinctly better than the horror which is Google Pixel! However, the Pixel takes the best photos of all three. Again, $240. GREAT FOR: Vlogging, Walking and talking YouTube. Teaching videos. SUCKS FOR: Fast motion video, "stunning" quality, attaching an external mic. This is your near only choice at the money because Panasonic at twice the price sucks. Canon just says, "I ain't making nothing else under $1000" so...either buy the Canon or the Sony at a grand or learn to love this nice like champ at $240. If it's not what you need, don't try to pretend it will work and then rate it badly.

I can't believe how light the camcorder is. It easy to use. and I like how the USB cable is built in. It also takes great movies.

Very easy to use. Picture quality is good. Lightweight. Use it to record cans and choir concerts for my school and it works well.

Bought it for my 9 year old. It's easy to use. Good battery life. Wish it came with a hard carrying case but that's irrelevant . Bought the opened box for a discount. Best Buy deals on open box can't be beat!

If you are looking for a basic, lightweight camcorder this is a great one. It takes crisp video and audio quality. I purchased this for a research project and was surprised with the quality. The only negative is the small button used to maneuver the screens and small fonts. If this feature was upgraded, it would be a homerun.

The camera was used for hockey broadcasts, and provided a very clear picture making action very easy to see. I also loved how easy it was to set up within our stream environment, and how easy it truly was to operate.

Camera was easy to use for my wife to video my kids games. High Definition video and good zoom in and out. Inexpensive and Perfect for what we needed.

I bought this for parents as a Christmas gift and helped them set it up . It’s pretty much straight forward to use and operate. The only thing I did was set the date and time, the rest is self explanatory. The zoom and picture quality is awesome! I easily zoomed in from across the room and could make out all the buttons and words on their kitchen stove . Imagine stabilization is top notch! This was a special buy that came with a memory card. For basic everyday use you can’t go wrong. If were in need of a camcorder for myself, I would easily buy this unit . They love it .

Bought this to record my sons football games. I absolutely love it. It had amazing zoom capabilities, the video quality is great, and I love that it came with the hdmi cord so I can easily play it on my tv. I would definitely buy again and have recommended this to friends/family.

I got this camcorder to take video of Mr mother's 100th birthday party. The unit is easy to use for record but playback is another story. I have several advanced college degrees. I read and re- read the manual several times without success. So I made an appointment with the Geek squad and the agent provided the help I needed. There are other features this unit has but I can't get them to work. I'm sure the unit is working but the instructions are atrocious.

As someone who is starting out in video production, I can say that this is a good camera to start out with. Capable of recording videos and taking photos, the camera's high resolution picture and frame rate make it the ideal camera for anyone to use. It is also the cheapest one I could afford, so if anyone wants to test this camera out, I say go for it.

Simple to use, great quality and long run time because you can power with a usb power bank to extend battery.

I purchased this for an aspiring cameraman. He expressed an interest in filming newscasts and documentaries so I purchased this camcorder to allow him to practice filming and see if he really likes it. He was very excited when he opened this Christmas day and is filming all the time now. We purchased a 128GB card, too, so he should be busy playing with this for awhile. The camcorder is easy to use and takes great videos and shots. It is also really small, making it very portable. Best of all, I received a bear hug for helping him to "follow his dream."
