We got this for our 11 year old daughter for Christmas. She opened the box, inserted the memory card and got it up and running right away. No problems whatsoever - and she has never had or operated a camcorder before. She loves it - makes all kinds of videos with it. And the price was right!

For the price and quality it was a good deal. I bought a open box and it was just like brand new. Nothing too fancy but gets the job done.

This was a great camcorder for us. We are starting a family soon and wanted to make home videos instead of always taking videos on our phones and never having all the videos in the same place and easy to play back on a tv in the future. Would recommend!

It is very compact and easy to use. I bought this one as a Christmas gift to my daughter and son-in-law to film my new granddaughter. I already had one my Dad gave me. I would recommend it to someone wanting something they could carry easily.

Bought this for the upcoming hunting season so I have not used it in the field yet however I did take it on vacation and it works great. Price was right and I like the zoom and the SD card rather than the old ways. Easy to edit and erase. I did order a few extra batteries.

Great quality and value for the money. The only thing that would make it better is night vision. But for the price, can’t complain. Good buy.

There are many reasons to buy this Sony camcorder over the competition, but one thing really stands out. XAVC-S. The regular codec the competitors use is probably about 22 megabits. XAVC-S is 50 and normally used in broadcast television! That's a big difference and a gracious addition to this outstanding camcorder. That is the reason I will only buy Sony.

This camera is easy to use, pretty straight forward controls, and starts up fast. The attached USB cord is a nice idea, but doesn't seem like it will hold up for that long. It's short and a seems a bit cheap. Overall I'm happy with the camera for the price I paid.

Bought this camera for my teenage daughter for Christmas. She wanted to video herself riding her horse to look for ways to improve her riding form and her horse's performance as well. Easy to setup and use. Turned out to be her favorite gift.

Love it best hand held camera i ever had and the playback vid resolution is fantastic only reason i wont give it 5 stars is cause they just now offer 4k video on a new mode and no memory card when i get it to initial set up

This is a no frills, entry level camera that does what you need it to do. It's nice to have a dedicated camera to capture things in a way that phones can't, and to have when you don't want to use something like a DSLR. Well priced and easy to use.

I bought this camcorder after reading several reviews about it being a good budget camcorder. It might not have all the "bells and whistles" that the higher end camcorders have however, this camcorder has exceeded my expectations for its quality, usability and overall functionality.

Needed a camera to record my brothers soccer games, and this thing is perfect! The quality is great and when combined with a tripod this get the job done! Perfect to record the games and review plays afterwards!

Our main goal when purchasing this was to have something we could use to capture those moments we never want to fade. We have captured countless family gatherings with this, and I can't wait to look back on them with my children when they are older.

We are far from professionals but this camera serves our needs perfectly. We pretty much use this for recording our kids sports, holidays and fun home movies. It has every thing we need for what we use it for. Another quality Sony product

The camera is merely adequate. The audio and video quality are good for what I'm using it for. The included manual says it's for this camera but the information appears to be for models other than this one. The software and app available through Sony fails to work for this model. I figured out how to get the camera to work for my purposes. However, the description and the documentation were very misleading. The average user would have much difficulty figuring out how to use this camera because there is no user friendly documentation for it.

The camera is as advertised and more! Performs great and with ease of operation! Totally satisfied with product!!

This is good enough for casual use, which is what most people have probably purchased it for. The device feels a bit cheap, but I think this is mainly due to its light weight, which can also be seen as a benefit. The menu system and manner of accessing it seems clunky and outdated, but once you get used to it it works alright. The video quality is average, better in good light. The stereo audio is very good. I have not yet taken advantage of all of the features, and I cannot yet vouch for long-term durability, but generally I think this recorder will meet my needs.

The lightness and portability of this camera is a must-get for anyone who films sports.
