Needed a basic camcorder to record in HD. Performs very well. Easy to use. Each format uploads easily with supplied USB cord. This is the second camcorder of this model I have owned. Other broke due to a fall while attached to a tripod.

This is used for at least one hour of recording time and i can say the battery does last without having to be plugged in. you will however need to buy a camera stand if needed since it doesn't fit most. However, good value buy

The Sony - Handycam CX405 Flash Memory Camcorder is sleek, lightweight and offers a variety of filming options and capabilities. Do yourself a favor and purchase a memory card to increase the amount of filming capacity.

I would had given this camera a 5. However, it has no remote control capability. I need it to do SELF videos to put online. However, the zoom is spectacular in fact I want to give it a 4.5 but don't know how .

I have purchased this product during Thanks giving time. It's excellent Cam. I have used for my recent trip. Captured some good memories.

This was actually a gift for my son and his wife. He opened the box right away and started using it immediately. He seemed very happy and comfortable using it but so far,so good.

For the price this video camera can't be beat. I am a professional photographer on a fishing boat. It does everything I ask it to do. The editing materials that come with the camera are lousy. SONY Movie Studio is much better.

Lightweight, Handy, Less price. This is a good investment for novice video shooting. Recording in good light condition was good. Battery life is well to. The only thing which I found missing is touch screen.

This camcorder works fine for the price I paid for it (I happened to get it on sale). But if you're hoping to get better sound quality, probably look elsewhere. This camcorder picks up pretty okay sound, but it doesn't allow for a mic input to get better sound. If you're hoping to use this a relatively cheap option to really start a focus on videos, I really recommend getting another camera. Otherwise, for family events or as a gift to an aspiring artist, this is a great option.

I wanted to capture some Christmas footage discreetly and positioned it on a tripod hidden between poinsettia's it was amazing. Great picture quality and sound. The 30 minutes it recorded that morning was worth the cost alone.

Purchased this video camera to use with our newborn to capture all the "firsts". We are very pleased with how easy it is to use and hook up to the TV to show family and friends! We are non professionals! Would highly recommend.

Great camera for the price, good image quality and lots of automated functions. Not as good for advanced users or manual control. Video out is behind the lcd, which is also the on/off function, so the lcd is always on.

I use it to film my sons soccer games and they look great. The battery last long enough for the game, but i have to make sure to charge it for the next one.

As my first video camera, it is rather easy to operate. While very lightweight, I worry how easily it may break as seems to be made of thin plastic.
