Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the original hard drive Handycam, which still works btw, but I have to keep resetting the date, so I wanted to buy a new one. I bought this newer version. At first I was skeptical since it felt like a toy compared to the old one. However, so far I'm really liking it. I LOVE the convenient USB plug that stays attached to the camera and tucks into the handle/strap. I also like that it uses an SD card. If I'm on vacation and fill it up, I can easily bring or go buy a new one to keep on filming.

Not able to night record

It is a great picture and easy to figure out and operate. The problem again is with the claim that it has night recording with IR lighting. Well you would need a whole room of IR lights for this to record at night.

I have drop this camcorder, it has got wet, been banged around and hit dirt and others. It keeps going. I love this little thing. Only thing i have against it is it could be better. Thats a duh lol. The video software that comes when the camcorder is plug to a computer is dated as heck. So if looking for a gem. Go here.

Camera good, cannot play or download to computer

The Play Memories software does not work. I have spent hours trying to download pictures and video. I cannot open the Play Memories app. Even if I can open it, I am not sure that I can play on a tv. Do Not buy this or any other Sony that requires PLay Memories app. You will be sorry. Bought at Frys but I wanted to give Best Buy customers a headsup. I read reviews here all the time. No help from Sony sight
