Loud and crisp, with great bass with a lot of thump, and treble, even outdoors. Came partially charged and took just a little less than two hours for full charge to complete. We listened to it on the patio for over 6 hours at quarter volume and it was still going strong. And the lights are cool at night. The android app was difficult at first but after a couple of tries we had success with that (was probably our error). We're trying trying to figure out how to sync it with our Google Assistant. The song list is extensive, unfortunately we could not try out the Karaoke feature because it didn't come with a microphone (which is why we only gave it 4 out of 5 stars).

When listening to FM radio, make sure to extend the antenna (aerial) horizontally. Keep the antenna (aerial) away from the AC power cord (mains lead) and the USB cable to get a better reception.

I was expecting a little more power from a product branded by Sony as high power audio given the size of this tower speaker. Don’t get me wrong, it works for what it is and the included lights, Bluetooth, d player, usb, and karaoke functions all work as they should and give a variety of options for entertainment. I do wish it had a rechargeable battery included as this is only operate on ac connection. The different sound modes make it a little customizable to your likings and does add some power and bass on a few notches. Overall, it is a fun party machine that will suffice but will not blow you away.

Not Happy With this Speaker....Junk!

The USB stopped working last year won't read the drive and now the Bluetooth doesn't work! The blue light for the Bluetooth just flashes. The antenna (wire) is garbage and because of the type of connector there is no way to attach a different one. Oh and the lights no longer work either! I didn't purchase the warranty so now I am stuck. Luckily I do have a good supply of cds so since the FM reception is crappy that's pretty much all I'll be using it for until that goes out too!......what a waste!

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great party speaker, for those that need a speaker that does it all. In the year 2020, the feature that seems to stand out the most is the inclusion of a CD player (more on that later). This speaker includes some features found on other Sony speakers where you can apply some DJ effects to the music. I personally find those features a bit gimmicky, particularly with the fiestable app, but I can see in the right party environment where it can be fun for a short period. You can also connect a microphone (1/4" jack), so you can do Karaoke or other DJ duties. It will also support a Guitar, if you want to show of your guitar shredding skills. And with the mic/guitar input, you can mess with the sound as well, for some mild amusement. And as expected with any modern speaker, this supports bluetooth and Aux input (standard headphone jack), and USB. The speaker will support multiple bluetooth devices connected at once, and if they're all phones with the fiestable app, you can take turns queuing up songs to play. I didn't have anyone to try this out with, but it does seem like a neat function if it works. And one last neat feature, not well advertised or documented, is the ability to rip a CD to a USB drive. The only clue this is even possible is the USB port being labeled as "REC/PLAY". So I checked the manual online, and buried in the documentation is not so clear instructions on how to accomplish the task. Ultimately, ripping to usb can only be started with the remote, which has an obvious "REC TO USB" button. All you have to do is put in a CD and a USB drive, and press that button, and off it goes (music doesn't play and speaker is otherwise unusable while it rips). A really neat hidden feature for archiving those old CDs you have collecting dust. The one thing I didn't particularly care for was the sound quality. I tried various equalizer modes, but never found one I truly liked. I think the equalizer is geared for the fun effects, and less for accurately reproduced sound, which is more of what I like. But even in "flat" mode, the sound seemed off... like high highs, and low lows, but nothing in-between. And the bass is decent, but never wowed me. I really expected better from this. So if you're looking for accurate, punchy sound, you may want to keep looking... but if you're looking for the bells and whistles for a fun DJ Karaoke night, this might be what you need.
