|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit when I first received this I didn't really understand what the point of it was, and I still kind of feel that way. However, after purchasing a mic I realized that it's basically built for karaoke (in my opinion). The app has lots of features to do things to songs to make them sound different, but nothing I would ever use nor would an actual DJ or anyone in between. The karaoke app is interesting and allows you to control the mic echo and other settings for the mic so that's helpful. There's also a way to have the app score the karaoke singer who's singing, but I'm not sure how good it works since I couldn't get it to work. You can also add a voice changer so that it creates a squeaky voice change like a mouse. My kid loved that. There are still some head scratchers on this like the CD player and all the settings. It's not really aimed at a professional Karaoke scene and it's not really aimed at children (which is what I'll use it for). It came in handy for my sons birthday where he sang some of his favorite songs and we had a ball. We basically streamed from my phone and let him sing away! Things I like: -It's loud -Sound quality is good. -Kids love it. -Seems well built. Things I don't like: -Also, it's loud. -No real instruction manual in the box. -It's big! -It has no water or dust resistance. -Distortion when turned up very loud. I think if you have friends that want to come over to sing karaoke or you have kids that like to sing and play music (be careful, it gets loud) then this just might be what you're looking for for a party. I feel they could have done without alot of the settings (that very few people will use), made it smaller (cd player in 2020?) and also targeted aspiring singers that would have been cool.

The bass is not as punchy as I hoped it would be, but it is not lacking. The bass boost delivers on its promise. The tweeters on this speaker are good in delivering the highs and some mids. The presets for the EQ are not that great so it might be worth downloading the Sony Music Center app to customize the EQ to your liking and improve the sound tenfold. I personally think it's not as loud as a PA speaker, but that's to be expected. I still expected it to be louder though. With just one, it covers a small to mid-sized room well but with plenty of background noises, it might get easily drowned out. The speaker is not heavy at all. I can carry it on its handle just fine without any trouble. The LEDs on this speaker is nothing more than a gimmick. The Sync function barely even syncs to the music. It's just a nice effect but don't expect too much. Not even the app gives it much options. Unfortunately, this speaker does not come with a microphone which is a huge bummer because it is a Karaoke speaker so if you were planning to get one and you do not have a quarter-inch microphone, you'll have to get one separately.

You can view the information as follows: Playing time/remaining time File name, folder name Song name, artist name, album name. If you're playing using Bluetooth, we recommend doing Party Playlist. The first thing I noticed is that the unit is a bit bigger than I had pictured, but this is not an issue just an observation. It does have a handle at the top for ease of moving it around to where you need it. The sound is terrific, crisp highs, clear mids and booming bass, this system doe get loud with no real loss of clarity. Bluetooth is easy to pair and connect, Sony's LED speaker lights, and the quality of sound make this a system I would highly recommend to anyone.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a good speaker if you throw a lot of backyard parties or dance parties in your home. The highs and mids are clear and well defined, and the lows have the typical muddy bass boost that most Sony speakers exhibit. The added mic input makes for a good way to have a simple PA or semi-portable system for a guitar musician. The karaoke feature is only with their added "Fiestable" app, which like Sony's Music Choice app, is of little use or function for the serious audiophile. The inclusion of a CD player and FM radio is a curious choice. I would have preferred that Sony add Wifi connectivity instead. Also, it has a handle and is relatively lightweight to carry, but it doesn't have a battery so you're still tied to the AC cord, which fortunately, is a simple straight plug - no wall wart or DC converter brick. It's a good speaker, with some curious choices, but probably not good enough for a serious DJ or audiophile, but more for the amateur party host or college party house.

Thanks for taking the time to review your V13. We regret to hear it hasn't performed to your standards and you're not having the best experience with your V13. This speaker features reinforce bass sound and create more powerful sound (MEGA BASS). You can Press MEGA BASS repeatedly to select “BASS ON”. The MEGA BASS indicator lights up.
NOTE: When the audio source does not contain much bass sound, the bass sound may not be audible.
To ensure an optimal listening experience, download the Sony Music Center app to adjust and control your sound settings to your preference. You can raise or lower the levels of specific frequency bands, then store the setting in the memory as “CUSTOM EQ”.

The [STANDBY] flashes on the display and it should switch off.
