good sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.good sound but you need better complements. Good sound but you need to improve the use of buttons since it is complicated to understand the combinations and improve the static since I thought it is more expensive better quality but I did not like it but the sound does

Fills the room
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I teach bootcamp classes every now and then, and I was using a great little P.A. speaker for my music. When that speaker finally died, I sought a replacement. This Sony speaker indeed does the trick. The set-up to my phone was seamless through Bluetooth, and within minutes of plugging in the speaker, I was hearing my playlist. The build is solid, and it is larger than I originally thought, but the extra cabin space does indeed emphasize the bass. I tested it with different types of music and all played great with no distortion, even at the highest volumes. It's also nice that it can answer calls. A little awkward at high volume, but still useful. This easily fills a large cardio room at a gym, and the light show is a solid bonus. Definitely a great party speaker, and exceeds my expectations.

Excellent Party Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony speaker is a beast! First off, this thing is big. Very big. However, if you're looking for something to spread the sound at a party then this is the speaker you want. It throws out a lot of bass. Serious bass. One of my only complaints is that mid and high tones get drowned out a bit at higher volumes. Did I mention this thing gets really loud? Still though it produces excellent sound and you can adjust it further via an app which also controls the onboard lights. You have connections options galore with this speaker. Bluetooth, USB, and audio in via RCA connectors, So far I"ve only used Bluetooth to connect and its a solid connection with both my iPhone and laptop with outstanding range. As I said earlier this thing is huge and is really designed to be used in a party setting. That said, i set it up in my living room, on the floor in a corner, and it provides plenty of sound to fill the room. It's also heavy so it's not exactly uber portable. Keep that in mind. If you are looking for something to take to or host a party and want some serious sound then get one of these. You'll be happy you did.

Powerful Speaker With Lots of Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the speaker has great sound. The extra bass mode boosts the low range without overpowering everything else and the live mode really gives added punch and expanded sound to the music that enables it to fill a large space, indoors or outdoors. Next, this speaker is very versatile with multiple connectivity options - bluetooth, audio-in and audio-out RCA plugs, USB to play mp3/wma files and charge a device, and an FM tuner (my favorite feature for quickly turning on continuous entertainment without fiddling with my phone or other device) with adjustable antenna. Also it has a Mic line-in. The bluetooth function easily paired with my bluetooth turntable. I haven't tried the smart phone apps. The lighting effects start when the speaker is plugged in, before the power button is turned on. There is supposed to be some control over the lights with one of the apps but I wish there was an on/off switch on the speaker for the light effects.

Lackluster bass
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a semi-portable device. It has to be plugged in and doesn't have a battery, but it is self-contained and has a convenient handle. If you just need a Bluetooth speaker and never plan to move it, you will get better sound quality and better stereo separation from a decent shelf system with a subwoofer for around the same price as this thing. Heck, you can buy a modern two-channel cheap receiver (most of which have Bluetooth connectivity these days), a cheap powered subwoofer, and a pair of cheap speakers for about the same price and get MUCH better sound quality. If you plan to occasionally move it, I honestly don't know how it stacks up against other semi-portable Bluetooth speakers in the same price range.

Bluetooth issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm giving it 3 stars because it sounds great when my husband is useing it. I can never use it because it will not pair on my phone. My husband and I have the same exact phone so I know its compatible. I have tried EVERYTHING.

Impulse purchase, no regret
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a great unit, we’ve already had hours of fun. Only thing is, sometimes takes a little while to connect to Bluetooth but it could also be our wi-fi because we have ATT and we all know the crap service they have. Awesome speaker, no regrets

Very loud/clear system
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint is that this system doesn’t have wheels to transport easier. The Bluetooth requires a free app to download before connecting so it’s a little bit of a hassle for someone else to connect if they haven’t updated the music app first.

A Must Have Accessory For A Party.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I am on my deck having a small get together, I normally use a small battery powered bluetooth speaker for entertainment. For the most part, it is adequate but if I wanted to have a larger party it feels like i'm missing a little something. That something is power and bass which the SONY XB72 is delivers. The XB72 speaker is larger, heavier and does needs to be plugged in however, those compromises are absolutely worth the loud booming sound. Some of the features of the XB72 that I like are that it can be used vertically or horizontally and it can be chained to other sony speakers. In my use, I found that it sounds better on its side and when using the wireless party chain with the XB22 speaker, the sound was not only amplified but it sounded even better. With all that being said, if I am having a large party the XB72 is a must have accessory.

Basic
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the guy at best buy i do not know why these ppl even go to work besides collecting a pay check. I ask the guy how many watts is it he is like oh we dont use watts any more and im like really so how come that one says watts?? Then he starts to look on his phone, i could have done that chit my self look on my phone you should know your merchandise. The speaker is ok but it has no remote so you have to constantly push the button on the side to go up and down witch to me is so stupid and out dated like im back in the 50’s and they haven't invented remotes yet.

Good but why is this not wireless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound, bass less than jbl partybox 100 which is same price range. Is not wireless, you have to have it connected to power which is against the portability feature.

Fun Speaker!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fun speaker! It has many options for connectivity in Bluetooth, Aux, NFC, & FM Tuner. I primarily used the Bluetooth with my phone. Was able to stream ALL audio from my phone and it worked very well. The sound is good out of the box, but you are able to customize the EQ via the Sony Amp. We used this outside and in the garage. Will prob take with us to the pool this summer. It has good handles so this is easily portable. I only wish they had found a pocket for the power cord and USB cable for phone charging! Oh yeah, it has a USB port for keeping your phone charged! It has good range for sound and works as a Karaoke machine. My kids loved it. Connects with a standard wired Microphone. Good and fun speaker - this will replace the Boom box of years past! I did knock off 1 star for lack of cable storage.
