Expected slot more out of it. Not loud enough for the size

Bought this thinking it would have great bass, was severely disappointed and am returning. Sound quality was mediocre at best and bass was pathetic, felt like blatent false advertising from Sony on the bass capability.

I listen to pretty much everything from rap to classical to the standards , so needless to say I love music! I'm 5'8 - this thing stands almost the full length of my inseam. I didn't weigh it but I'd say it's around 30 lbs. First thing's first - some Alice Cooper - sound is nice and full, a little on the high end until I played with the equalizer. Perfect - sounds outstanding and fills the house with sound! I can feel the sound in my chest about 20 feet away! The light show is nicely done , colors changing to the music along with small strobes that flash to the beat. On to some Sinatra. I tried out the "Live" mode - WOW - it seriously felt and sounded like I was at a Sinatra performance, NICE JOB SONY! Next, some rap - not the modern stuff, more like 10-15 years old... Low end of the bass was a little lacking even with the XTRA Bass setting turned on, but it still had a punch to it. Not disappointing considering the size of the woofers though. You're not going to find a bluetooth speaker this big, and I personally haven't heard one that puts off this much sound - definitely worth checking out if you don't mind the fact that it's not nearly as portable as many speakers out there. Two thumbs up, Sony!

I was very impressed with the complete sound and overall great quality of this speaker system. It is ideal for parties or groups but you can use it at home if you want to use it for the sound and happy that it also does speaker capabilities for your voice calls and your cell phone. This is the premier bluetooth speaker experience.

Terrible didnt come with power cord, remote, instructions, then wanted me to return it with no guarantee of receiving missing items.

I’m a big fan of Sony bluetooth speakers. I like the Extra Bass and I am one of the people who quite enjoy the lighting effects that are available so adding this to the line-up was nice. First off, this thing is massive. It is much bigger than it appears in photos and is probably taller than a 3 year old. Setup was super simple using my iPhone and pairing it to multiple devices was no issue. Like I said, I am a big fan of the Extra Bass feature on Sony speakers but this one comes with a slight caveat - I wouldn’t recommend using the the Extra Bass indoors. It works well outdoors but when confined indoors, the sound can come off as a little muddled. Other than pairing with a bluetooth connected device, you also have the option of using a USB stick but the awesome thing about this speaker is that you also have a tuner and it also has a built-in antenna. Overall this is a great speaker but I would definitely recommend it only for large spaces or outdoor use as even something like the XB40 can fill up a large room; alternatively the XB501G is a good alternative with Google Assistant built-in.

This speaker is NUTS. I played Cloud City bass boosted on it full volume and max bass and it was crazy. This thing is a monster and I'm thinking of buying another to throw parties and be a DJ. These things will do the deed at any party. Sound is crisp and the bass is good. I got mine for 200 on a Black Friday. I was going to get the XB-60 and it was 200 as well. I decided to yolo with a non chargeable speaker as I never take it anywhere and it is PERFECT for at home. When the parents arent home its max volume.

Echo dot is louder than this thing so I returned for the Ion power glow which was superior and cheaper.

Not what I hoped for at all. Poor sound quality. Bass surprisingly bad for the size.

Plug in . Also had hard time connecting to devices. At times sound would go in and out.

I returned this the next day did not like the size

Super sound quality. I love the features and connections built in. I can plug in a microphone and use as a PA speaker or karaoke over my favorite songs while playing through the speaker. It has line in and out as well. There is a volume control specific to the mic in as well which is nice. This speaker is a little large.... it is not something you just carry around for some extra sound. It serves a specific purpose. But boy does it have great sound. My kids really enjoy the light features and strobe lights as well. We have replaced our old Karaoke system with this now. Kids just stream their music from the ipad or iphone and watch the lyrics on that device while jamming out to the amazing sound.

Found something better elsewhere. Won’t be purchasing anything again.

I really love this speaker, the only down side in my opinion is that it looks too immature for being used as anything other than a Bluetooth speaker or karaoke speaker. The sound quality is phenomenal. I like the app that coincides with the whole line of Sony speakers. You can go in and adjust the bass and treble and there are also a few pre-configured settings to choose from. The speaker also has flashing colorful lights that you can change or turn off. All controlled by the app. All of the Sony speakers and be linked but I have no tried this feature yet. This speaker is much larger than I had expected, it weighs about 25lbs. Not very portable.

Overall, I was fairly impressed by this speaker. There are a couple things that it does lack or need tweaking, but if you're looking for a powerful, fun, party, wireless speaker, this is definitely a good buy! Pulling the speaker out of the box, I was impressed how heavy the speaker was (27 lbs), the build quality felt very substantial. Upon plugging the speaker in, it defaults to a light demo mode where the lights on the unit flash, flicker, and fade going through a colorful demo sequence. To turn this off, you need to hold the W. Party Func button for 3+ seconds. Powering the unit on, I was able to quickly pair an iPhone over bluetooth without issue. I downloaded the Music Center app to take full advantage of the speaker as well. I tried all of the features in the app and it responded well. Turning the speaker off and on again proves to re-pair bluetooth reliably and quickly back to my phone. My initial impression of sound quality was adequate. At less than 80% volume, the speaker sounded clear and had decent quality. Above 80% you started getting into distortion territory. The Extra Bass button adds some low end, but speaker actually seemed to lack heavy bass, and the overall sound profile lacked presence and impact. If you're looking for a loud speaker that's fun at parties, this will work great, but if you're looking for a bluetooth speaker with really good sound quality, this may not be the perfect fit. There are frequency ranges that are lacking on this speaker. I did have an additional Sony bluetooth speaker, so I was able to test out the party chaining feature. It was fairly simple to pair them together, however I noticed when doing this over bluetooth, the sound quality of the bluetooth connection severely decreased. The clarity dropped a ton. This was the only feature I was disappointed on as it was heavily advertised as a great function, and the quality drop makes it unusable for someone who has any care about sound quality. Overall, a solid speaker, and a really good fit for a party environment!
