What i liked about this speaker is that it was loud and the bass sounds great. You can take this to a river, lake, party, tailgate or any function really. The biggest downside to this for me was the size. I hated lugging this thing around because it is heavy.

The Sony XB90 is a very cool looking speaker. It’s huge, lots of colorful lights and flashes. However sound quality is not great. When I opened up the speaker the first thing I thought of was big hard hitting sound. I was excited. After connecting to my phone and playing some tracks I was left disappointed in sound quality. Even after playing with sound settings the sound is muffled, no hard hitting bass despite the speakers appearance, and just overall sub par sound. I tried tweaking the sound via the Sony app but it did little to satisfy my ears. I’d classify this as just a loud speaker great for parties or outdoor gatherings where you just want a loud speaker. Build quality is pretty good. Everything is clean and well built. Although, it would have improved sound if they had a wooden enclosure instead of plastic. Also a weird note. Mine smelled like sour yogurt. No joke. Other than that the build quality is good. Connecting to the speaker is like with any other Bluetooth speaker. Turn it on and pair with your phone. The Sony app also provides better control over the speaker. You can control the lighting scheme, sound etc. The app does seem bugged however. Not a smooth experience. You have the option of chaining multiple speakers together. I only have one so didn’t test this feature. You can also plug in a mic via a port in the back if you’re feeling like singing along with your favorite songs. If you’re looking for a loud cool looking speaker for parties this may be the one for you. If you’re looking for quality sound. Definitely look elsewhere.

I love this speaker had it for 2 years now I just bought a second one cause I moved to a bigger home ther speakers are amazing! Great bass you can choose to take off extra A bass which is great as well

Was very excited to purchase this speaker. Brought it home and quickly set it up downloaded the apps and fired it up. I must admit I was very disappointed with the sound quality. The sound is muffled like if the music was coming out of a barrel. The real test was when I had the speaker in the backyard and my wife who doesn’t care much about how music sounds, walks outside and says, “what’s wrong with the music” and I said, “what do you mean” and she said, “the music sounds muffled”. I couldn’t believe she actually noticed. We have an all Klipsch home theater system that sounds awesome and she’s never commented even once on the sound quality but she sure noticed the muffled sound of the XB 90. Unfortunately I think I will return this and continue to search for a better quality sounding party speaker.

After all the reviews I read. I bought it. What a let down. Took it back. Its loud is all I can say. There are no highs and no lows. You people that say the bass is great?!?! What bass???????? Sounds like a p.a. speaker. Without the woofer. If you want loud blaring music and dont care about sound quality. Then this is for you. If you want good clean sounding music, keep searching. Btw you have to download a huge app to access the light and sound features. Quite the fiasco. Not worth it. To bad sony.

Sound quality is horrible, but I didn't really care about that, as I just wanted this to play my drums to. Big and heavy when pulling it out of the box, which made me think big speaker magnets and it will be loud. I was very wrong. My $200 Samsung sound bar is louder and much better sound quality.

This speaker is awful. We have only had it about 6 months and sent it out for repair and Sony won't fix it. Didn't even tell me that I have been trying to track down where our speaker is now. Paid around $500 not worth it at all. Best buy should at least do an exchange at least. We just want a speaker that works.
