Not The Best But Still Good

I like the sound of the Sonos better but I let myself be talked into buying this instead. In retrospect, I prefer the Sonos, but that doesn't make this sound bar a bad product. Also, the setup and GUI aren't the most intuitive. *Note; You definitely need the sub woofer with it.

Amazing Sound!

Sound is amazing but now I need to add the subwoofer and maybe later the rear speakers. Had the GEEK squad set this up so cannot comment on the ease of installation with TV.

Sony, The One and Only.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my Sony 55A80J TV, the width of this sound bar matches the width of my TV. The A7000 would have stuck out way passed the width of my TV, which I didn't want. This sound bar adds another dimension to the awesome TV, it helps to more focus the sound to other speakers instead of all the sound coming from the TV itself. The TV becomes the 'center channel' of vocals, and the sound bar takes on the surround sounds. I also added the SA-SW5 subwoofer and the SA-RS5 rear speakers which make for a fantastic encompassing sound environment. The rear surround speakers I placed on the Dream MD5402 stands and they are perfect for these speakers (need 2 additional M5 metric screws to attach the Sony speakers). I bought all my items as open box, and couldn't be happier with my purchases.

I'm sure it would work equally well with other brand TVs that support ARC and eARC. I have no regrets. Setup was a little tricky. You may have to make several attempts. Don't give up, lol.

Excellent Soundbar with vertical speakers

The bass, center, left, right and vertical brings it to a immersive sound levels. It has all the quirks you want in a soundbar, the bluetooth device connection for streaming from any of your device. Alexa soundbar connection for playing your Alexa music. Spotify music, push of button to connect and play where you left off. The HDMI 2.1 video pass through (future proof up to 8K), get that easy video audio connection for your 4K player to display its full power (Dolby Atmos). [cough cough, S-o-nos has very limited options] HDMI EARC connection makes connecting to your TV seamless easy to control via the TV remote. The menu system is also displayed on the TV makes configurations easy. Only con, is probably no volume equalizer to for sound adjustments. Just simple steps adjustments for the subwoofer and surround sound. But it sounds great, calibrated as is with the simple controls. The soundbar itself is quite large. Justified, with the number of quality of speakers in it, it creates great sound. I added the surround sound speakers and it complements very well for the immersive experience. The vertical speakers is an important component for me to purchase this, it brings out the Dolby Atmos sound from the 4K bluray player.

"Open-Box Excellent" option is great

I just upgraded from the HT-A3000 to the HT-A5000 and wish I would have gone with the -A5000 first. While the -A3000 is really good, and might work better for some depending on their use case, the -A5000 is absolutely fantastic! No worries, I should be able to sell the -A3000. Anyway, I decided to take a chance and try one of the "Open-Box Excellent" options and couldn't be happier. My example was definitely previously opened, but it appears as if it was never actually used. It is truly flawless, with no sign of wear. So, if you're looking for a great deal on a great sound bar, consider this "Open-Box Excellent" option.

AMAZING SONY Soundbar for SONY Bravia XR TVs

The integration with the TV is why it was worth the premium pricing for me. The sound is great especially after I set the default sound stage profile to DTS Neural X. I really like the enhanced bass and broader sound profile with the DTS setting seems more like a theater experience to me, while the SONY and Dolby defaults sound more nuanced and even accurate at times, thankfully there are choices for all types of content. The immersive sound with TV as center channel and the rear speakers (RS5) and sub (SW5) make this setup absolutely excellent, flexible, and versatile while delivery high quality surround sound. If the sound profile were easier to switch (switching is not hard, just inconvenient for certain settings) this would be an absolutely perfect soundbar. The setup, integration, and actual sound experience make this an exceptional fit for SONY Bravia XR TV’s like mine.

It is a good sound and you can hear the immersive sound. It is cool how you can add additional speakers to the product. I have a sony tv so it links nicely. I Would recommend but note it is large and will take up more space than other soundbars.

Volume may vary depending on your source content. Make sure to try multiple sources. Check that the night mode function is turned off. Press the NIGHT button on the remote. The setting does not appear on the TV screen while the TV input is selected. In this case, you can check the setting in the front panel display. You can also make dialogs clearer by pressing the VOICE button on the remote.
Aside from adding the optional subwoofer and rear speakers, you can use the sound field function of the soundbar to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You may refer to this link for more information:

Great system with add ons

Easy to set up. I originally had the soundbar mounted on the wall, but the upfiring speakers needed to be slightly in front of the TV, so now it is just in front of it.

Great sound but has one flaw

This is THE soundbar!!!!!

I had an outdated, 16 year old speaker system and I just didn't want to deal with wires in an apartment. This thing is AMAZING!!!!! I purchased the RS5 rear speakers which brings it together. I like having the RS5 and it does add to the experience of the soundbar, but don't feel like you HAVE to have the rear speakers. The sound quality is nutty. Thus far, the Dolby Atmos experience has been a little underwhelming, but I haven't watched any of my Marvel movies yet and I feel like those movies are going to show me what I am missing. I ALMOST decided to return the RS5, but I just really like the rear surround. The soundbar is THAT good! You will not regret getting this soundbar. Well, unless the A7000 goes on sale to under $1100. In which case, get that.

Solid Soundbar

I tried a different model that everytime a show would go to the next episode you missed any opening dialogue because of the delay and that is my favorite thing about this one maybe milliseconds of delay but you miss nothing. The sound quality is great but I did lower it one star because the built in sub isn't anything to write home about. This means that in order to get the best performance you have to get one of the compatible subs which to me makes it feel like it's not a genuine complete package. Other than that it has been good for movies, amazing for tv since you don't need much sub for most shows, and great for gaming as well. If you can afford and don't need the seven speakers of the bigger brother then go for it! This has nothing to do with the soundbar itself but I was also impressed with Best Buy keeping me updated on the shipping process. After having some grief with Amazon shipping this becomes very important in satisfaction.

Best Single Sound Bar

The sound is amazing, and absolutely fills the air in my apartment. I never have to have it higher than mid 40s, and even then you can feel the bass. I have only used the spotify and bluetooth once or twice, but Alexa always makes things easier. The spacial sound mapping does an amazing job or creating an immersive surround sound experience, using the walls to bounce sound around you. You can hear overhead sounds, and to the side. I MIGHT eventually get two remote rear speakers to help with the rear sound, but for now, it is more than good enough. Bass is surprisingly deep, and mids and high tones are crystal clear. Highly recommend if you're pairing down your sound system to a single bar.

Good alone, Excellent with a Sub and Surrounds

With good Dolby programming you get expansive, clear room filling sound and plenty of rumble when needed. As a stand alone its pretty good too with clear dialogue and sound extending beyond it's edges thanks to the up firing atmos speakers. If it had a bit better sound shaping and some eq options it would be perfect...but it's pretty good once you find the sweet spot in the available options which fit your room the best.
