Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.On August 23, 2022, we purchased a new Sony OLED TV and soundbar from Best Buy at the Bald Hill Road store. AJ was our rep. Great guy and sensitive to our needs as seniors. He provided good advice about picture quality, etc. The installers came on 6 September 2022. They were very careful in removing the old Samsung and setting up the new Sony. Unfortunately, the sound bar had to set on top of the TV feet in front of the TV. This configuration blocked the TV sensor. The crew should have told us to stand up to change channels or have the TV wall mounted. We could not turn off the TV except if we turned off power at the power strip. During the course of the clown show we received 27 emails and 14 messages alerting us that someone was going to show up between 7AM and 1PM. These message went on for about 2 weeks, so we were prisoners in our own house waiting for the cavalry. Dan ‘the Man’ in Maine was our best contact. But we were never sure. For instance, Connor was supposed to show up but then the appointment was cancelled at 12 Noon on 8 September. We’d get a phone call or email message or text message. There was no consistency. Dan the Man from Man said we’d get appointment from Diana on the 15th. Then we’d get a message from Eric saying he was going to show up. And then a message from Carson saying he'd show up to program the remote. Carson and Eric messages came after Diana showed up to program the remote and sync it to the Verizon set top box. We never knew who was going to show up. There was no central dispatcher. Diana did a good job at syncing the remote and set top box and showing us how to point the remote to shut off power. Why did it take so long? No coordination. It was such a clown show.

The sound quality is great but probably not better than a Vizio. Connectability issues. Will not connect with Alexa through the Sony app. Randomly switches from hdmi to tv output.

Configuring was easy/peasy with a new Sony X90 and I can't speak to other TV's. Perfect mate for this; and as in a bedroom, I felt the 7000 model would be overkill. This is good enough and really rarely turned volume up much but realize in a larger room would be more than ample as well.

I had great expectations from everything I saw. This is a nice quality unit, but I expected a lot from the ATMOS and sound stage. I paired it with a new Sony OLED so I could take advantage of the integrated center speaker feature. There is not a great sense of "spaciousness" that I expected. There are some neat surround effects here and there, but it was not all I expected for the money.

Great audio but needs rears and sub

I got the SW3 sub and it really helped the experience. I also got the RS5 rears which took it to the next level thanks to the upfiring speakers on them combined with the upfiring speakers on the soundbar.

Built-in subwoofer delivers high sound pressure for clear, deep bass. This has been achieved by expanding the area of the diaphragm and the size of the subwoofer (X-Balanced Speaker Unit).
NOTE: When the audio source does not contain much bass sound, the bass sound may not be audible.

Vocal tones are crisp and clear, bass tones cut through appropriately, and functionality outside of tv use is nothing short of incredible. Down the road I may look at getting a sub but at this point i see no necessity for one. Great soundbar.
