The HT-A5000 have built-in subwoofer which provide an additional boost to low end frequencies. Unfortunately, the optional subwoofer accessories (SA-SW3 and SA-SW5) are sold separately. If you need more oomph, fuller and richer sound, two subwoofer choices (SA-SW3 and SA-SW5) and a set of rear speakers (SA-RS3S and SA-RS5) are optional equipment designed to help you enhance the immersion of your content. The wireless subwoofer and rear speaker accessories take out any guesswork of connecting, as they automatically pair to the HT-A5000 once they are powered on.

To ensure that you are getting the most out of your HT-A5000, make sure to run Sound Field Optimization so that the soundbar can calibrate its performance to your environment, and that it sounds like it was engineered to be in your room. We are truly sorry to hear about the ongoing trouble you are experiencing with the firmware updates failing during download on your HT-A5000, and we apologize for the frustration this is causing. Having the system lock up or fail repeatedly when you're just trying to keep the software current is definitely not the smooth experience we want for you.

We understand your concern regarding the built-in features and the size of the soundbar. Regarding Chromecast, it is primarily integrated into the audio system for high-quality audio casting and streaming music services rather than video playback, which is usually handled directly by a smart TV or external streaming device. For the update issue, sometimes a local network glitch can cause the download to drop, so we highly recommend trying a manual USB update using a flash drive as an alternative way to bypass the network download entirely.

Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc. To play multi-channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the speaker system. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the connected device.

Additionally, you can adjust the sound settings of the soundbar to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You may refer to this link for more information (refer to "Adjusting the Sound and Volume Quality"):

When the input source does not contain much of bass sound, as is the case with most TV programs, the bass sound may not be audible.
