Over hyped and over priced

The hta7000 does not sound better than the htst5000. The bass is not punchy. I added the rears speakers and 300w sub. Was disappointed with the sound quality. I’m returning it.

Posted .Hi 123rs, We are sorry to hear that the HTA7000 did not meet all of your expectations with it comes to the sound quality and is planning on returning the unit. If you still have the HTA7000, we'd love to troubleshoot this and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, depending on the input signal and the sound mode setting, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.
Install the speaker system, the optional rear speakers and subwoofer at a distance of 1.5 m (5 ft) or more from a wireless LAN router, etc.
It may be improved by changing the direction or the antenna’s angle of the wireless LAN router.

Bought sony thinking it would be quality but the e arc hdmi connection has failed after a year and 4 months. Bestbuy will do nothing to back the product sold to me because i wont spend $179 on there total tech membership per year. Disappointed in bestbuy totally after spending the amount of money i spent.

That is why we include ways to adjust the sound quality and sound effects to your liking. All of this is included in the manual that came with the unit.
To ensure that you are getting the most out of your HT-A7000, make sure to toggle on the "Immersive AE" remote button to upscale the entire audio systems' performance. Additionally, make sure to run Sound Field Optimization so that the soundbar can calibrate its performance to your environment, and that it sounds like it was engineered to be in your room. If you want to expand your audio system and get fuller, richer sound, we also recommend to take a look at our optional subwoofer and rears accessories. Two subwoofer choices (SA-SW3 and SA-SW5) and a set of rear speakers (SA-RS3S and SA-RS5) are optional equipment designed to help you enhance the immersion of your content.

Disappointed, No Power six months in....

The unit will no longer power on. The only service that Sony offers is to ship the unit back to them at their cost for repair. In the meantime, I am without the centerpiece of my sound system. I think that if you invest in a Soundbar of this caliber Sony should have a better system in place to take care of customers like us, whereas a replacement is shipped with you returning the unit. I will update the timeline on how much time it takes to get it back.

Press VOICE to set the function on or off.
The voice mode setting appears on the TV screen.
[Voice: On]: Dialog is easily heard by enhancing dialog range.
[Voice: Off]: Deactivates the voice mode function.

Not a premium sound bar

First impression after we connected with the TV and calibrate sound to fit the room was: "man!! it sounds worse than the TV speakers". I honesty feel this sound bar doesn't have the premium quality. I ended up using my old sound bar Sony HT-NT3 which give better sound than HT-A7000

While we are glad that you are enjoying the HTA7000 soundbar while watching your favorite TV shows, we're sorry to hear if you feel that it is not good when using it for parties. If you still have the unit, please try some steps below if no sound or only a very low-level sound of the device connected to the speaker system is heard.
Press (volume) + on the remote control and check the volume level.
Press (muting) or (volume) + on the remote control to cancel the muting function.
Make sure the input source is selected correctly. You should try other input sources by pressing the input select button on the remote control (TV/HDMI1/HDMI2/ANALOG/USB/BLUETOOTH).
Make sure that the connectors are firmly inserted.
When you play content compatible with copyright protection technology (HDCP), sound may not be output from the speaker system.
Change the setting of [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] - [HDMI Settings] - [HDMI Signal Format] - [HDMI IN 1]/[HDMI IN 2].

The bass is ok, and the soundbar itself is descend but def not worth $2500 after you add all the bass woofer, rear and soundbar.

Since I got the Sony tv, I wanted to give the new, fancy Sony soundbar a try. I currently have a Klipsch RSB-11 and its a pretty nice setup, but sometimes I struggle with low voices, so I wanted something with a dedicated center channel and also something designed to handle the newer sound protocols. I was very disappointed with this Sony setup (and I had it paired with the SW-5 300W sub). It just sounds cheap as soon as I turned it on….surprisingly cheap. I like to think I’m somewhat of an audiophile, and I felt like maybe I just didn’t have it setup correctly. No matter the settings, I never felt like the sound justified the price. I boxed it up the next day and swapped for the Bose Smart 900 and the 700 sub. I could hear the difference immediately. My suggestion, don’t bother with this Sony….not worth the investment. When you’re spending this kind of money, you should hear the difference without question
