NEVER CONNECTS

It never wants to connect, only works 50% of the time, and is a complete waste of the “wireless” feature because all speakers have to be plugged in. I absolutely do not think something such as this should be nearly as complicated as it is as my TV is optimized for such speakers. Geek squad came to put it all in the right a spot and ended up not hanging any of them up, moving my speakers to WORSE places, and did nothing except waste time. 1/10 experience. Returning tomorrow.

Terrible speakers

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive tried these speakers 4x and i can tell you all 4x had drop out i wait a year for them to get the bugs out and bought them brand new last week and still nothing but drop out and errors while optimizing all in all Sony 3 years of these on the market and you still cant your flagship junk for speakers how about yall stop trying to reinvent the wheel in the home stereo world and just copy off everyone else because yall are garbage at home audio! Now TVs your masters at but stay far far far away from home audio. Dont Buy these speakers no matter what sale they run!!!

Entirely unacceptable technical problems

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After almost a full year in the market, I had hoped the technical issues for the HT-A9 has been resolved by Sony. However, I can 100% confirm that this is not the case. Audio quality is exceptionally choppy and pops and noises throughout the entire playback experience. The speakers are connected via eARC to LG C2 and then a PC via HDMI on 3080. The audio playback is choppy regardless of content (games, youtube, Atmos). All software is up to date as of 05/28/2022. I really really hoped that it would've worked out, as the sound quality coming out of these are a joy to behold. However, the technical issues on these speakers are absolutely unacceptable for a $2k product.

Wifi vs wired

Video and Sound Blackouts...

Sony has been less than helpful in fixing it and are now asking me to pack up the whole system and send it off for repair for 2 weeks.

Dropouts kill this

I've tried RF on and off, changed hdmi from 8k/120 to enhanced, these changes will fix it for 1-4 hours then it reverts back to dropouts. Does this with Youtube, any content from Appletv 4k box and Sony built in apps. Too much frustration for $2,500.

If the audio drops, please install the control box and speakers at a distance of 1.5 m (5 ft) or more from a wireless LAN router, etc. It may be improved by changing the direction or the antenna’s angle of the wireless LAN router. Disappointed…

I spent hours troubleshooting with no reliable solution. For the price, the audio issues are unacceptable. I’m returning mine for something else.

Great sound but unstable connectivity

Folks talk about having a bubble experience, this certainly gives you that. At times, I can't tell where the sound is coming from, especially when playing music. However, I had to return this due to the constant disconnect. I can't make it through a movie without some sort of drop out or sound issue. For a system that costs $2k, it shouldn't do this. They got someone really good here but they need to figure out this connectivity issue!!

I Found the Dropout issue!

I went into my TV sound settings and turned off eARC mode. This instantly fixed the audio issue! I have the samsung q90a. I hope this helps others as frustrated as i was!

Not a enjoyable purchase

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The A9 control box failed the day after purchase - no light, power, etc. Sony was good on phone but all troubleshooting efforts to fix were unsuccessful. I did not want the hassle of returning to Sony so I returned the system to Best Buy for a refund. When the system worked on day 1 (had some dreaded dropouts) the sound quality was good. Maybe version 2 (if released) will be better.

so much better than soundbar

Not worth the hassle

Not back right speaker randomly decieding it doesnt want to work unless I plug and unplug it 5 freaking times. Seriously making me regret replacing my full Sonos set up.

We'd like to help and do the best possible for you. Please make sure that the control box and speaker are installed not too far away from each other. If there is any obstacle between the control box and speakers, remove it or move the control box and speaker away from the obstacle.
