S-Center does not work as advertised.

If you have a SONY TV (e.g., 77inch A80K OLED), the HT A9 system is supposed to work with the TV as the Center channel if S-Center is enabled (with a 3.5mm Audio jack). However, if you do this, a dull and persistant hissing sound comes out of the TV. Sony Support seems to be aware of this problem with many of their TV models, include OLEDs. Works *okay* without the S-Center. What is the use of such an expensive system if all the features aren't working as advertised, especially when paired with their own (Sony) TVs. Overall, a reasonably good system if you have the Sony Subwoofer SW5. This would have been a great system if S-Center worked correctly. Else, I feel that the Phantom Center is a little weak.

That said, the issue of the sound cutting out intermittently was a deal breaker. Until this issue is resolved, I can’t recommend it.

Please set the RF channel setting to ON or OFF by following these steps [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] - [Speaker Settings] - [Wireless Speaker Settings] - [RF Channel] to [Off], then set to [On].

It failed

I have purchased this system to use with my Sony A90J TV which looks like the HT-A9 system stability and reliability is not good. The system does not keep wireless connection for the Front Left Speaker. I have restarted the whole system several times and all the firmwares are updated. I will for another week to see if there is any software update come out and fix the system failure, then I will return it https://youtu.be/Px9q5SQiSng

I also made sure that the module (black control box) is in sight to all the speakers and I have not had any drop off issues.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical because of all the negative videos and reviews other customers have done about this product so I held off until recently for more firmware updates or product improvements. The set up was as easy as can be. The sound calibration only took 30 seconds. The movie experience is off the charts. Sound comes from all directions thanks to the 360 spatial surround sound. I tried setting it up in random places since to see if it was a product gimmick but it worked way better than expected. This is an easy choice to replace an existing sound bar or aging home theater system. Just be ready to pay for that premium Sony price. Worth it though!
