More importantly, I always read the reviews to weigh my options which almost always dictate my decision making in making any such purchase. I will admit, the reviews for the most part seemed pretty good for this soundbar system. But I was still on the fence about it and thought I would go in store and hear it for myself to be absolutely certain. Long story short, the demo in store pretty much sold me as it sounded very strong in tandem with the bass unit. However, when I got it home and set up, it sounded not quite as strong as I remembered in store. The sound bar audio is good. But the bass unit sounds pretty weak to say the least. Especially being as big and bulky as it is. Though this system wasn't for me, I must admit that I'm rather disappointed with it. If it was mine, I would of definitely taken it back for sure to get something with more umph.

This is definitely not the listening experience we want you to have. You can easily enjoy pre-programmed sound effects that are tailored to different kinds of sound sources. Reference: https://support.am.sony.com/release/Manual_4748757112.pdf pages 21-22.

With the Sony name this was a major disappointment

Had an inexpensive Vizio sound bar that I had bought used for around 40 bucks, and thought it was time to upgrade. Saw this 320 Watt Sony on sale, and found an open box item even less expensive, and thought this HAS to be a step up from what I have. I admit to being somewhat picky about my sound systems, but nothing over the top. I actually found this almost unlistenable. The sound was just so thin and tinny. I could be wrong but basically it sounded like it had no midrange at all. I tried all the different preset sounds, but none of them really worked. Compared it to my 40 dollar Vizio, there was no comparison, and the Vizio won by leaps and bounds. So the Sony went back. Being a HUGE Sony TV fan, and pretty much the only brand I've bought for years this was a major disappointment. Not really sure what folks are hearing who are giving it good reviews, but I guess it is all subjective, and this was definitely not for me.

Posted .Hi artb, thank you for your feedback. It is really unfortunate to hear our HT-S350 did not meet your expectations and that it needs to be returned. We will have your inputs noted as we always strive to make this a better experience. The Sound quality depends on the signal and content. The HTS350 features a sound mode that is tailored to sound sources and voice mode to make dialogs clearer. You can adjust it to your liking by pressing the buttons on the remote control. We also suggest having your S350 placed closer to the ear level to allow you to hear more details. If the bar is mounted or placed low, you may not have the best listening experience.
We value you being one of our TV fans, and we are hoping that you will consider Sony again in your future purchase!

Terrible! Returned for the Song HTG700

First, since it’s a 2.1 it literally misses the mark. It always sounds like it doesn’t have enough voice in the center. No matter what you do under any setting it’s missing a center channel. I’m telling you please don’t waste your money on this you will regret it. I returned it and bought the HTG700. Totally worth the extra money!

Make to select to appropriate sound mode depending on your source that you're listening to. And to ensure optimal audio performance when listening to TV and movie content, we recommend the Cinema Mode. We recommend Music mode if you are listening to music. Hope this helps. -Sam
