- Increase the volume of the Soundbar using the remote control.
- Increase the volume of the output device, such as a TV or audio device.
- Turn off the Night Mode setting. On the Soundbar remote control, press the NIGHT button to turn off the Night Mode setting.
- Try switching to different sound modes and adjust the voice setting to enhance the sound.

Excellent soundbar if you just need better audio for standard listening but don't expect to get much more than clarity with this set up.

DON'T BUY THIS!

Wrong. My tv had a hard time pickin this up so I had to download an app that helps pick up with bluetooth devices. It worked but I didn't want to have to go thru that extra step and it took a long time to research to get to that point. I got my speaker on the 3rd of April 2021. I've only had it for 16 days. Within the 3rd day the speaker sound kept going in and out. Most of the time you have to have the volume up to around 40 or 50 to even be able to hear it. It also will say "connected" then the sound wont even work. This has been going on ever since I've had it. Due to the short return policy on this, I can no longer return it so now it's just going to sit in my basement. What a waste of money! Don't buy this!

To isolate this issue, please try to connect your TV to the soundbar using HDMI ARC or an Optical cable connection. Also, try to connect the soundbar to a different Bluetooth device and test the audio.

Not quite what we were looking for

Not that this one is bad, but the 3.1 has the center speaker which really makes a difference.

If the the surround effect cannot be obtained, Depending on the input signal and the sound mode setting, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc. To play multi channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the Sound Bar.

However, it did not have a unified remote control feature despite connecting it to a Sony TV. I had to use its own remote to adjust the volume.

Press SW + on the remote control to increase the subwoofer volume.
Make sure that the status indicator on the subwoofer is lit in green or orange.
Set the night mode to off.
If the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. Play the built-in demonstration music by following the steps below and check that the sound is output from the subwoofer.
-Press and hold the (TV) button on the Bar Speaker for 5 seconds.
The built-in demonstration music is played.
-Press the (TV) button again.
The built-in demonstration music is canceled and the Sound Bar returns to the previous status.

But if it's not turned up you can't hear people talking regularly. Don't think it's worth the money.

Seriously disappointed Sony

The biggest issue I have is the with the subwoofer. The sound is muffled and at no matter how much you try to turn the volume up on it, the sound won't turn up. I had to actually get on the floor and get in front of it to make sure there was sound. The only reason I still have it is because I missed the return time frame to return it.

One of my frustrations with systems today is I have to turn the volume way up to here the voices and then the action scenes have to be turned down so I'm constantly jacking with the volume. I currently have Sony Blu-Ray Home Theatre System BDV-E3100 5.1 & sub wired 1000W & 50" Sony TV Setup is easy plug and play, with this unit you only get optical cord so if you have ARC HDMI make sure you pickup a HDMI cable. The sub is Bluetooth & pairs automatically when unit is turned on, that's it now enjoy the sound! There are multiple presets on the remote so just know that you will need it close by, I don't recommend putting it with the other 50 remotes you have lol. The cinema preset I use the most because I am a movie buff/Netflix binger. Voices are very clear and I only have the volume around 50% (that is already big dif from my other unit which was 80% usually) & the bass is perfect crisp punch NOT overwhelming or sounding like its going to pop. The simulation of surround is good but listen if you have owned a 5.1 system and had it setup correctly, it's not the same and you will notice differences there is know doubt about it. I put the sub at the back of the room opposite end from TV and I think it helped the surround effect. The other preset I use the most is Music which I listen to on a daily basis usually during dinner. This preset adds more bass and changes the sound tone, it takes out the surround effect. It really sounds good & hits hard but, at about 85% volume it starts to crackle on some songs but at that level I can't even hear my own voice so just reference that. Now remember I downgraded from 1000w system to this 320w system & honestly I really like this one & will use my Xbox as DVD player now. Good job Sony
