The sound this soundbar puts out is borderline offensive. The bar itself sounds like a tin can. The sub IS powerful, but that is where literally ALL the low tones come from when using the system. It's just not a good experience.

Hi TyGuy, We're sorry to hear you're having sound quality issues with your Sony soundbar. This is usually not the case for our soundbars nor the experience we want you to have. Trying out different pre-programmed sound mode options and enabling the Voice mode function are some of the steps that we recommend to ensure optimal listening experience on this soundbar.

Hi TonyWhite4554, We are sorry to hear that the HTS350 did not meet your expectations when it comes to sound quality. Depending on the input signal and the sound mode setting, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.
To play multi channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the Sound Bar. For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the connected device.

I bought it 2 weeks ago. This device is super weak and low quality. I connected it to my Sony TV and the sound was much worse than TV's inside speakers. You hear the boom sound of subwoofer only if you raise the volume to over 70/100. To any aspect this is a real junk.

Hi Behzad, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your HTS350. We regret to know that the sound level and quality of this unit did not meet your expectations. To ensure you're getting the best listening experience, we recommend selecting MUSIC when listening to music, and select CINEMA when watching TV shows or movies. There also multiple sound mode options and pre-programmed sound effects that are tailored to different kinds of sound sources. I've always loved Sony's styling and quality of materials used. This 2.1 front surround soundbar and sub-woofer combination fit right in with Sony's heritage. Curvaceous on the edges and sleek in design it's appearance looks amazing in 2019 and still will in 2029. As far as dimensions and fit, it's just short of 3 feet in length, under 3 inches in height and less than 4 inches in depth so with this being wall mountable it won't look gaudy or huge sitting under your television. Digitally amplified. Power output is 320w , The wireless sub-woofer size is a 6.3 so not quite a 6.5 which is normal for a lot I've seen, But again with Sony's design of the cabinet it resonates a deep rich bass that they're known for. You can also stream your music through the system through bluetooth connection. I listen to a variety of music from rap and hip hop to classic rock to techno and EDM, and with every genre of music the sound was crisp, clear and punchy. When watching a movie with this setup you literally feel engulfed by the sound. I don't know if its the design or placement of the speakers in the soundbar but it really does seem like the sound comes from all around. You can connect with one simple wire by using their HDMI ARC. If your tv doesn't have HDMI (which nowadays I don't know too many tv's that don't) you still have the option of using optical connection. Overall I love this soundbar I've always been a huge Sony fan and this once again does not disappoint Would highly recommend to others

I finally had the chance to hook this up last night and so far, its much better than mine previous Sony Soundbar setup. The quality of sound is above average and the bass is decent, but the volume on it has to be turned up near max to really get the best performance out of it. I would also recommend turning off the volume on your TV because i noticed a slight delay in certain instances with the sound. I do think the sound at higher volumes is pretty good also. All in all, this is a good, moderately priced system. I would recommend it.

    TV Wake Up

I have always been a true surround sound kind of guy, but the beautiful thing about these soundbars is that set up is so easy and you don't have to worry about running or hiding all that speaker wire. Most modern TVs have enough input sources that they can essentially work as your receiver/switch, so cable management is virtually nonexistent. As is true to almost every soundbar, this Sony HT-S350 soundbar will take all of the work out of setup as it only requires power and an input signal. It took me more time to take the equipment out of the box than it did to actually set up the soundbar and sub woofer. Since I only had to plug in the supplied Optical Cable, Power Source for the soundbar, and power cable for the sub, I was enjoying entertainment from this Sony 2.1 system in minutes. I have experienced this soundbar for TV shows, movies, and most frequently music in my office. My office is relatively small (12 x 12), but this Sony Soundbar has no problem filling the room with quality sound. Volume is there, clarity is there, and for the most part, bass is there. I did have to put the sub woofer closer to my listening position to fully experience the lows in any of my content. But considering that the sub is wireless, finding the best spot for this component is no sweat. This is not a replacement for a full surround sound system if you are a cinephile, but for the cost and ease of setup, this thing will wake up your TV in a hurry. The only real gripe that I have about this soundbar system is the display, or lack of. Other soundbars that I have had the pleasure to test have a digital display that will tell me the input selected, volume level, etc. This system only has a series of lights that light up when activated or blink in code that can be decoded in the instructions, but I am left feeling like I need to brush up on my Morse Code to understand what input or volume setting that I have selected. There appears to be a lot of free space between the speakers in the soundbar that could have been utilized to make this device more user friendly, but this is more of a want, than a need. With continued use, you will learn the language of your soundbar and enjoy many quality nights together and keep money in your pockets for other toys.

The quality for this was not good in my opinion. Even with this being on the cheaper side for sound bars, I wouldn’t pay more than $100 for this. I returned this for the Vizio 3.1 sound bar around the same price and that’s way better.

This system produces a lot of bass for my family room of 300sf. It doesn't have a high tech virtual surround mode, but it doesn't claim to. That being said, it does give a noticeable surround feeling. The main bar is unobtrusive and fits nicely under most screens. It connects to the TV using HDMI ARC connector or optical cable. From what I understand, the arc connector works well for most TVs, turning the unit on and off with the TV and adjusting volume from the TV's remote, I was unable to consistently reproduce this with my Samsung TV. It could be just my TV version being older, but hooking it up to a newer TV seems to have worked out for it. It tends to freeze up from time to time, forcing you to reset the system; so I just have it connected with optical cable and it works great with no loss of sound, though you need to use its remote. If you buy this, make sure your TV both has an ARC connector and will work with this unit.
