Set up was difficult only because the software on my Sony TV has been updated since the instructions for the soundbar were printed. Originally I tried going cheap without a subwoofer—not recommended. The sound was terribly tinny and so I returned it. Very happy with my purchase. I would change just one thing and that is that the soundbar sits in front of the infrared eye for the TV—but that is a flaw in the TV design (stand not tall enough), not the soundbar.

Not as much bass as front bottom sound bar, but using both bars sound mixes real well. When I need to hear conversations I'll turn on the 3rd bar above my head and behind me. (it's also with bass, on off system) SONY will not go to sleep, only ones does are LGs. Sound bar on this I can see inside and I think looks bad. Reason I went this system is much less power consumption than my true 5.1 around system. PS also did not want to spend another 1000 or 2000 dollars more get 5.1 sound bar system.

So I bought this one and it connected quickly with no trouble at all. The sound was not great at first, but apparently needs some time to 'season' and now after six weeks of use is very good. I would give this a 4 and 1/2 rating because it is better than good, but not excellent. Of course, I didn't have to pay hundreds of dollars for it. Well worth the money.

A huge upgrade from the TV speakers. Was very simple to connect using the ARC HDMI port on the TV and soundbar just turned on and was connected. It was well integrated into our Sony TV. Sound is very crisp and clear even at high volumes, with adjustable bass that can really boom. There's different sound modes, but I usually just leave it on auto-detect. Highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a soundbar on a budget.

Cons: No visible display for volume so you must rely on cryptic LED indicators, optical audio connector is at an odd angle, included cable is delicate and thin, no HDMI pass-through. Overall, I would buy it for a basic TV setup (we use in the master bedroom where the extra features are less necessary, but still want quality audio).
