Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was quite disappointed in my purchase of a Samsung soundbar system from a different retailer (given the fact that the subwoofer lost connection before even a month...) so I started shopping for a better brand like Sony. This was all I needed to begin with. The bar and a good subwoofer that KEEPS connection. Did a bass test upon hooking it up and I wasn’t let down. The only draw back is the lack of a digital reading on the front of the bar... I’m accustomed to sound bars having a volume and input level displayed on the front and this particular model has only a 1 or 2 light display allowing you to see that the tv and bar are running. The manual gives more info on what the lights represent but it is still basic in that it flashes when you adjust the volume or change the sound setting and, well, that’s about it... that also means you don’t exactly have a read out on the level of subwoofer you are using... just keep it to max and on “game” mode and it serves its purpose for the price. I really began shopping for a sound bar/woofer combo primarily for certain movies and gaming (thus the need for the subwoofer) and films like the original Blade Runner on Blu Ray don’t disappoint with this system (that title just isn’t the same without that theater quality bass) so if you are looking for a quality sound from a quality brand on a budget, this package does that.

Great addition to my TV

The only problem I had was that the HDMI connection didn’t work and I had to use the optical cable (the directions indicated that the HDMI alone would work with my TV, but sadly that was not the case). But once I connected the optical cable, the unit worked flawlessly and the sound is beautiful. Video games (PS4) especially sound great with this set-up.

To get sound from your TV, you will need to connect the audio system with an optical cable or audio cable.

It was very strange that my Sony TV would switch sound over to the Soundbar and no sound could be heard. I had to reboot the soundbar and then it worked and synced perfectly. The sound is a bit off when playing music from my cell phone to the soundbar via Bluetooth; therefore I do not recommend using it as a Bluetooth speaker.

It’s especially good when your upstairs neighbor brings his love band to practice at night and doesn’t understand there’s no insulation between floors. Crank this system up a little and everything starts to shake and the neighbors take note and end their practice time! No crackling, no breaking up. Clear, good sound!

Great sound bar for reasonable price!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a sound bar for our townhouse basement that we haven’t hung out in for a while even though it has a nice Sony 55” flatsceen hung up & an extremely comfortable sectional couch. Was contemplating the Sonos Beam Gen 2 but didn’t want to spend that much money if I didn’t have to. After careful consideration, I chose this one. Set up was very simple via the optical cable & despite moving the sub woofer around several times it syncs up automatically fine (each time). This thing provides a very robust sound (volume wise) & provides a very good sound stage/soundscape for whatever you’re watching. We’ve watched several eps of S5 Breaking Bad, first ep of Moon Knight, ep 10 of Bel Air, S3 ep 3 of Atlanta, and Raiders of the Lost Ark with this new sound bar & it does a great job! My only criticism is I wish the sub woofer kicked a little more especially since its almost the size of a CPU but it does an adequate job. I tested the subwoofer with the symphony explosion scene in Tenet & a couple of scenes in Blade Runner 2049. The sub woofer did a satisfactory job but not spectacular. I wasn’t sure this was a keeper but it definately is. Highly recommend this sound bar if you’re budget minded.
