I can now get some bass onnmy shows and still here the dialog! For the price its perfect. The wireless subwoofer is so convenient for me and i have zero problems with the connections.

Certain shows have a “tinny” sound. And the previous model had an auto turn-off after no use for a certain time. This one you have to turn off or it simply stays on

Thank you for your feedback and for being a loyal Sony user. We are happy to hear you are overall satisfied with your HTS400, and we would like to help you fine-tune the experience to better match your previous model.
To address the bass response, we recommend using the Bass + button on your remote to manually increase the subwoofer output until it reaches your preferred level. Regarding the audio quality on certain shows, adjusting this bass level can often help round out the sound profile and reduce any perceived "tinny" quality.
Additionally, your soundbar does include an Auto Standby function that allows it to turn off automatically when not in use. To enable or check this setting, please press and hold both the Power and TV buttons on the bar speaker itself for more than 5 seconds. The front panel display will then show "AUTO STANDBY" along with the current setting, allowing you to ensure the feature is active so the unit powers down on its own.

If i used the original TV sound it would echo in my room, this really cleaned that up, and the bass really makes me feel like i am in the theater(small room)

Sure it doesnt have all the features that some of the other soundbars have but it has HDMI ARC, optical and bluetooth and thats all i need. Sound quality is good and while im not an audiophile i do like good sound quality and this has it. I got mine on a black friday sale for $149.99. At the time of writing this (11/13/2023) its on sale for $199.99. It may be a little high but Sony is known for their home entertainment products. I mainly use mine for watching TV and listening to music. Sometimes when im watching TV it sounds like the sound is coming from straight in front of me. (TV and soundbar are offset). Of course thats a placement thing. Overall, awesome 2.1 soundbar that works great in a bedroom
