Lack of sound adjustments

I have not been able to find a way to adjust basic sound settings like bass and treble. It seems the sound bar menus themselves do not even have the option. So, I tried using the few presets (cinema, music, game, etc.) on the sound bar remote and those do not work either. The display on the sound bar shows "not use" when I press any of the sound preset buttons. Also, in Sony's infinite wisdom, all the options on the TV for advanced sound settings within the “sound customization” menu are greyed out because I am not using the TV speakers. Long story short is that I have a sound bar that Sony is basically refusing to allow me to adjust the sound at all, except for volume. Sony needs to go back and do a software update for the TV so people can use the advanced sound settings. I paid way too much for essential controls to be unavailable. The sounds is honestly not clear enough, I was simply looking for a way to increase the treble. Unfortunately, it's too late for me to return this. I may just disconnect it and use the TV speakers; at least I could gain control of the sound.

We regret to hear that you are having sound adjustments issues on the HTZ9F. We'd like to help and make this a better experience. The sound mode does not appear on the TV screen while the TV input is selected. You can enjoy pre-programmed sound effects that are tailored to different kinds of sound sources however the sound mode function is disabled in the following conditions:
– [Sound Effect] is set to a setting other
than [Sound Mode On].
– Chromecast built-in is used.
– Amazon Alexa is used.
– The wireless multi room function is used.
– BLUETOOTH device is connected in.
BLUETOOTH transmission mode.
– Test tone is emitted.
