This sound bar delivers the great sound quality needed to go with that great picture. Add the rear speakers that go with this sound bar to complete the experience.

Good but could be better.

The bass is very minimal no matter what settings you have. Great for upgrading from regular TV audio but if your looking for deep bass and a full surround sound experience check else where. Great for apartments but not for large homes. Still not a bad system but if I knew what I know now I would've spent the money and got something bigger and better. I was being cheap and didn't quite get what I was looking for. Again gives off great sound and zero issues since I purchased but I want it LOUDER!

When the input source does not contain much bass sound such as in TV programs, the bass sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. Good soundbar, priced incorrectly

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The soundbar promises Dolby atoms sound without any upward firing speakers by way of virtual manipulation and honestly..I have yet to feel it. It’s a good soundbar..sound is full and has extra hdmi ports and an optical port. Also has Bluetooth capability of transmitting as well as receiving. But I don’t find it’s virtual Dolby promise fulfilled. I am going to continue using the soundbar for few more days and see if it is worth the price. Which is on the pricey side. 699 for 3 front speaker and subwoofer is a little pricey to be honest. There are other competitors who offer more speakers and power with designated upward firing speakers and rear channels included in that price. I am trying to find of ways to arrange this in a way that I can feel it’s Dolby atoms feature but so far it’s been ineffective. I don’t have a separate home theater area; may be if I had enclosed walls and a tiny home theater room, it’s virtual surround sound may play a role. But since I live in an apartment with apartment walls(which I am sure everyone whose lives in an partner ever knows, how those are) I doubt it’s trickery is going to come in handy. The subwoofer is great and adds a good amount of bass to it. But the soundbar only has a fuller sound, Sometimes dialogues aren’t discernible even with night mode on. Also I don’t know why the subwoofer has cloth on it..at the price point you don’t give customer a dust collector..and I am sure they might say it’s for acoustics but I’ve seen other expensive subwoofer with no cloth so I am sure there’s a way around it. Sony needs to let loose a little and reduce its price. I don’t think it’s worth the money.

Really good, but not great.

However, it does not live up my expectations. Reviews that I read before purchase lead me to expect more. I expected more form the Dolby Atmos, I expected more form the sub woofer. Previously I had an 8" sub hooked up to my receiver with the TV running though that; the floor shook, not so much with this unit. OK. I know, I know I was being unrealistic, but the fact is, that is the bass sound I was expecting. We are planning to get the Sony surround speakers that match with this unit, they should help fill out the sound stage that I was expecting Atmos to do.

Great soundbar but, not so great subwoofer.

It can make it sound like you got more speakers than you actually have. Mounting was straight forward. It really makes a difference over the tv's speakers. When the subwoofer works it is really a great system. The problem is 80 percent of the time the subwoofer want respond. There is some kind of interference between my wifi and the subwoofer connection. I can unplug subwoofer and it will work for a while. There no way to adjust the connection settings for the subwoofer. Thus in a few days I have no subwoofer connected again.

It was much more difficult to install than we thought though...Attaching it to the tv (another product needed for that), and hooking it up through all the devices we have. I’m sure it would have been much easier if we just had the tv on a stand, and one device, but we had a VCR/DVD combo, Blu-Ray, Wii, and Directv to deal with. Make sure your settings are on “Standard” settings (not “Enhanced”), if you have an older device or you won’t get sound. We are enjoying it very much, and we got it on sale. We have only had it a few weeks so I can’t attest to the longevity of the product but that’s why I got the warranty.

Then I added these to link up and it's even better! It turned it from 3.1 to 5.1. Best system I've had in a long time!

The only problem is that sometimes the unit, tv, and direct box all come on , but the tv says no signal. If I turn off everything and restart , things come on properly. The subwoofer is great.

I have the rear speakers which are a must. Super easy setup, great remote. My FIOS remote also controls the soundbar, which was important to me. I had a Bose soundbar prior and had nothing but problems.

Solid Sound bar

I was looking to not take up as much space and sound bars fit that need as well as delivering similiar full/satisfying sound. I decided on the sony sound bar as it met my need for the number of HDMI connection ports as well as still having ample watt-age (1k on old system). I enjoyed the easy setup and install. It was very nice finally having a Bluetooth system in the house. Overall very satisfied, but i will probably look to get the rear speakers in the future. There is some loss of sound from the rear obviously, but the sound bar n sub do a solid job of covering all the other angles.
