New al a Carte soundbar

Whereas this soundbar with the TV was good, I'm not sure it was worth it, as it needed the Subwoofer to really provide the full range of sound that I had with the older system.

Sony makes great cheaper soundbar for the money

This was a lower costing soundbar. I had issues installing it on my sony bravia. The instructions dont tell you a thing. Took 2 days to figure out that i had to go into my sony bravia tv settings and turn on the Hdmi that i had to plug it into made specifically for the sound bar. I was getting so annoyed with this. So just a warning if you have a sony tv.

Small but powerful sound

No upward firing speakers but can still give that Dolby Atoms feel. Clear , crisp sound that sound true from any spot in the room I’m standing at. Will be adding rear surround speakers in the near future.

Got this to go with our new Sony Bravia TV, What a difference! Like being at the movies. Next step is to add a woofer and rear speakers. Used the soundbar as a test to see if adding speakers made a difference. Oh my did it ever!

Needs More Power

Once we found the optimal setting, I found it was too soft and had to turn the volume up 3/4 of the way. I ended up returning it and purchasing the Sony HT-A5000 5.1 channel Dolby Atmos sound bar and am much happier.

I was surprised at how powerful this item delivered. I don't use the soundbar for my big screen TV but as an independent USB player for my workspace in the garage. I works beautifully. I imagine it would be equally powerful when attach to the TV.

Amazing combination with Sony Oled Bravia. The addition of the RS-5 wireless speakers, amazing. Dolby atmos is amazing. Love the quality of the audio out of such a small footprint.

Sony Soundbar with Strong Bass, Maybe Too Strong

When you raise the volume for clearer dialogue, the bass suddenly becomes too loud, forcing you to constantly readjust the volume. The listening experience can feel unbalanced because of this. When it comes to connectivity the soundbar offers seamless connectivity to Sony TVs, which is a big plus.

We sincerely apologize for the frustration you are experiencing with the bass performance. We understand that the overpowering bass that requires constant volume readjustment when trying to achieve clearer dialogue is making the listening experience feel unbalanced.
For enhanced dialogue clarity and better bass control, we recommend exploring the settings available in the Home/Setup menu of the soundbar (accessible via the remote control). You should be able to manually adjust the subwoofer/bass level independently, as well as try the Voice Mode feature, which is designed to specifically isolate and enhance spoken dialogue frequencies without boosting the overall volume too much.
