    Seems a little weird to have to turn the volume up so high I guess it just has a bigger scale than others that I have used.

    Sound problem

    We are having one problem with the sound bar. The sound bar keeps switching from tv speakers to sound bar and back again. When this happens the tv goes black! This happens several times a day! Now this morning the sound went out completely and we had to restart the system to get sound!

      Hi JohnE, we're sorry to hear that you have an issue with your Sony unit. Please make sure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the TV and the sound bar. Use the HDMI ARC/eARC port on both devices if available. Restart both the TV and the sound bar. You can do this by unplugging them from the power source for a few minutes and then plugging them back in. Please follow this link for more details:

    I was expecting more. Voice clarity -the main reason I got a soundbar- is lacking. Yes, it is better than the speakers in my Sony tv (. 85 inch Bravia) but it certainly does not make me say “wow, I’m glad I spent that $$ on this thing”..

    A great sound bar and easy to set up. I have a Sony Bravia TV and the sync was practically immediate. Our sound is so good and we got a good Black Friday deal so felt like we didn’t overspend.

    Bought the 2.1 system but never opened the box and switched to the 3.1 and bought the subwoofer as well instead. Only complaint is the sound level has to be way higher with this system than with the regular tv prior to adding the sound bar. Like 3 or 4 times higher.

    sound bar is great, but it wont stay connected to the subwoofer and wont connect to the rear speakers at all unless its in test mode

    I should have picked a 5.1 or better this is ok with the rear speakers but on its own it doesn’t even feel like it’s in stereo

    I should've returned it

    It disconnects often or doesnt turn on at all with my Sony A80L. I have zero faith that I'll have sound when I power up my tv. I'm past the return period. Dont make my mistake. Also the "tv center speaker mode" creates an annoying ground loop hum that is a known issue with Sony customer service. But Sony wont replace or fix it. The sound with the sub is good but it doesnt matter when a product is this unreliable. I've gone through the troubleshooting links.

      While we're glad you like the easy installation of the unit, we are sorry to hear if you find the HT-A3000 doesn't get very loud. Verify if it happens from all sources such as apps in the TV, USB or Bluetooth. If not, it may be an issue with the source. If you haven't yet, please follow the steps below

      - By pressing SOUND FIELD to turn on the surround effect, the speaker system upmixes audio signals, and sound is output from all speakers.
      - Increase the volume of the Soundbar using the remote control.
      - Turn off the Night Mode setting. On the Soundbar remote control, press the NIGHT button to turn off the Night Mode setting.
