I had to buy the digital verison sadly at first but i ended up buying this digital disc addition add On as well. Now i technically gave a digital disc version slim lol. Works like a charm an easy to install

Works perfectly, simple to install, you do not need to pay someone to install it. I repeat you can do it yourself if you can read.

It’s a disc drive. I need it to play my physical game licenses. I don’t notice noise or any negatives. Plus the eject button is now clearly differentiated from the power button unlike the launch PS6. I do think it’s overpriced, but not insanely so.

Arrived on time and in great condition. Was able to install it according to the instructions and it performs as expected.

Was an absolute must for watching BluRay as well as normal DVDs. I'm a fan of physical media opposed to strictly digital.

Frustrating to have to snap on an external disc drive just to give my PS5 Pro the same features as my previous model, but this was easy to attach and works just as well as if it were all one unit.

The drive fits nicely into the PS5 and makes things neat and becomes part of the unit. It's a drive and it works well; not much more to say other than it loads fast. I would recommend it because it matches so well.

Yes it was dumb Sony didnt include it with the Pro. At least its a piece of cake to install. Took less than 10 min and works great. Never go full digital!

Simple plug and play. Works great, looks like it was a disc version from the factory. Comes with the little plastic feet to accommodate the extra height.

Extremely easy to add onto your existing slim playstation console. I prefer having the physical copy of the game, so this worked perfectly for me.

I bought this because the drive on my PS5 slim started to fail. While it was still under warranty, Sony requests that you send the entire system back for an indefinite amount of time--they estimated about 3 to 5 weeks. During that period, you would lose your settings, and any online game would need to be redownloaded and disc games reinstalled once returned. So, option #2, buy this. It was incredibly easy to and unlike previous game systems, the disc drive is not "married" to the motherboard. Swapping out the drive took under two minutes, setup and few more minutes and it's been working like a champ ever since. Sony did the right thing here by making the system more modular and this is a perfect case and point.
