Absolutely garbage.

So a need for clear crisp sound that helps me hear the slightest sounds is a must. These sound good to an extent. It has great bass but it really seems to focus on low frequencies so the entire time it just muddles everything else. I could not hear enemies coming I could not tell what sound was what. Everything just sounded like bass was boosted to max for every sound. Mind I play on PS5 and these are ps5 compatible but even tweaking the sound through the enabled settings only made it worse. For the price of $350 they are complete garbage. If it was priced at maybe 50-75 dollars then ok cool get them if they fit your sound profile needs but if your doing any competitive do not get these. I returned this for steel series arctic nova pro for $219 at Best Buy. These blow are night and day difference. They blow the Sonys out of the water I was susceptible because of the pricing and originally went with Sony since I thought ps5 is Sony and compatible and the high price would get me what I paid for but boy was I wrong.

Also off the fact that they use the same drivers in their flagship headphones. Pretty happy with them…. Just wish EQ’s could be saved for PlayStation games. Makes absolutely zero sense a Sony gaming headset isn’t completely synced and compatible with PlayStation.

Audio quality is a bit all over the place and I wouldn’t say it’s great. You can EQ these via software on PC but I couldn’t get them to a spot I liked. Due to my head shape as well these didn’t fit me comfortably but I would imagine most people would find these comfortable.

World-class Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used and enjoyed the Sony Inzone H9 headset for the past 3 years, so when I saw that the Sony Inzone H9 II was coming out I was instantly excited to see how they compare and what sort of improvements were made. The first thing I noticed about the new headset is the lighter weight, which allows for it to be worn more comfortably during long sessions. The H9 II also has a new style of adjustable headband that leads to a more secure fit without feeling too tight. As for the earcups, they appear to be made of a new cloth-like material which is more breathable and seems like it will last for a long time unlike leatherette which might wear down. The microphone of the headset is fully removable, which is nice if you ever want to listen to audio without needing to speak. In addition, the sound quality of the microphone is superb and is a marked improvement from before. To my ears, it sounds so good that I would be fine using it for recording speech instead of needing a separate studio mic. I do miss the convenience of the tilt up to mute feature, but I'm sure I will get used to the separate mute button on top. Also, this microphone has a large filter on the end which can get in the way if you're not used to it being there, but it seems to be worth it for the reduction in pops and background noise. The wireless range of the Inzone H9 II is insane and the best of any headset I've had before. I was able to walk many rooms away while the audio played at a continuous high quality, where other headsets would have lost signal long before. The headset also offers a wired mode which is a nice option if you want to experience the highest sound quality and is something that not many wireless headsets offer nowadays. The noise cancellation mode works very well and is able to easily drown out common background noises to an unobtrusive level. On the other hand, the ambient sound mode offers excellent passthrough. When I had the headset in this mode, external noises sounded very natural and it felt as if the headset wasn't even covering my ears. In terms of sound quality, the H9 II excels for being a gaming headset. Many people assume that a gaming headset necessarily has bad sound quality, but surprisingly this headset has the same high-end drivers as the Sony WH-1000XM6. Another great thing about this headset is the ability to simultaneously connect to both Bluetooth and PC. You can seamlessly connect to a Bluetooth device without having to worry about switching pairings or plugging in a new dongle. The battery life of the Inzone H9 II is also great, and I never have to worry about it running low as long as I plug it in occasionally. And even if the battery were to run out, this headset can still be used while it is in the middle of charging. A final nice inclusion with the H9 II was the addition of a carrying bag. To wrap things up, the Sony Inzone H9 II is the best gaming headset I have used before and is a considerable improvement upon its predecessor. It shines in all areas, and the only improvement I could think of would have been the inclusion of a USB-A adapter. I was surprised to learn that this headset comes with a USB-C adapter, but luckily my newly built PC has a native USB-C port on it so this wasn't an issue. However for people with older PCs, this is something to be aware of.

The build quality on these headphones is great. They are made of a durable plastic. The biggest benefit to them being plastic seems to be the weight--they are super light and don’t create a lot of fatigue after long wear. The headband is also super comfortable. There is a button on each side of the headband that allows it to adjust freely to get the perfect comfort. My only wish on the headphones build is that the headphones folded; because they don’t fold it makes them a bit more difficult to transport as they have a large footprint. Overall, they feel super balanced and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I really appreciate the inclusion of physical controls on the headset. I especially like that the mute button is a toggle so you can feel when it’s on mute vs. not on mute. The windows/iOS companion apps allow you to customize the settings of the headphones. Among configurable options are adjusting the EQ. There are EQ presets for specific games, or you can listen to sample sounds and configure the EQ based on your preferences. Connectivity is super easy to set up. Connecting via 2.4ghz is as simple as plugging in the dongle into a device. It didn’t seem to require installation of any drivers or anything. Bluetooth is as simple as holding the pairing button. I didn’t have any issues with connectivity during my testing. I also appreciated the inclusion of a wired connection option. The sound quality is amazing. Sony said the drivers in these are the same as the WH-1000XM6, which are some of the best over-ear headphones on the market. It has virtual 7.1 surround sound which is great for gaming as you can hear sounds from where they are coming from. There is also noise cancellation built in which works super well too. I could hear the quietest noises clearly and directionally where they were coming from, which I feel like gives me an advantage when I’m gaming. The microphone works really well, too. My friends who helped me tested the microphone said I came through super clear. According to Sony, it has AI-powered background noise cancellation for the microphone and I think that’s apparent in the sound quality. I also love that the microphone is removable. It also has a built in light to indicate when you’re on mute which is super cool. Overall, I’d recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a top tier gaming headset.
