Open box with missing parts

It was an open box item rated "excellent," so no blemishes and all parts included. Unfortunately, whoever at Best Buy in Portland, Oregon accepted the item back from its previous owner didn't check carefully at all. The headphones were in the box, but no charging cord and no dongle. So, basically, a useless item. I returned it to my local BB store for a new, unopened box (with all parts included, of course), at a cost to me of over $80.00 above what I had already paid for the open box item. So this review is about the hassle of ordering and waiting for the delivery of an item that was not what it claimed to be. My son did not use the item because he couldn't charge it and he couldn't connect it. I will leave a separate review of the one I purchased that did have all of its parts. This is a review of BestBuy's claim that open box items on its website contain all necessary parts. I've purchased open box items from BB before, but only in-store. I will never order one again on-line.

It has a nice set of features, looks good, has a great build, and performs well. Further, it has the add of ANC and it just sounds good. It is extremely comfortable and easy to wear, generally, and for an extended duration. It sits well on my head, and while it feels secure, it isn’t too tight. Not too much pressure. All good for glasses as well. The padding on the headband and cups is thick, soft, and comfortable. Cup rotation and headband adjustments are easy and smooth. No issues here, I think most would feel the same. Everything is solid and nicely put together, and they feel good in the hand. A nice weight that won’t get heavy on your head after some time. There are some LED light rings on the sides of the cans that shine either blue or white depending on your connection. The mic has a nice swivel, and some flex to it, which I really like, but it is not removable. I get it, but it is a bit of a bummer for me. The controls are more or less standard and what you would expect. On the left side there is an ANC/Ambient mode button, a USB-C charging port, and a volume rocker. On the other there is a power button, bluetooth button, and an independent chat voice volume button. I think these are all done mostly well, but maybe the volume button could be “out” a little more to make it easier to access. Connectivity is great, with both bluetooth and 2.4 Ghz options. I have had rock solid performance, and minimal delay. I can roam around about 15-20 feet and not have any trouble with interference or cracking sound. I’ve just had zero issues here. As for the styling, I do like it, and I “see” what they are going for here. Mostly plain, white, and black, clean looking, with some subtle LED use. I do have to say I would probably really love to see these in all black, but again, on some level they are going for a PlayStation match. I should note they are a bit “big looking.” Nothing crazy, but they are not some sleek, tiny cans. I think this is good, as I think fit should not be an issue for those with small ears or those with big ears. Both comfort and seal should be great across the board. It hasn’t seemed to be a thing in gaming headsets, but I like the add of ANC, especially given Sony’s prowess here. I think it is done well. It may not get everything, but rather most of those steady consistent sounds around you. This is my first headset with it, but I like it. In some ways, you get a bit more immersed. On the flipside, Ambient mode is also done well, and works as expected. The mic is…solid. Frankly, it isn’t the best (TY HS 80), but it is good. It will work for you, and no one will complain. At this price, I would have liked to see better, but it is on par with most, and it is not a major issue for me. Just something to note. As for sound, well, it is very good. I should clarify all of my experience is with my PC, so keep that in mind with all of my thoughts. I think these cans sound great out of the box, but the software you can pair with them is fantastic on the computer side. There are quite a few customization options that you should definitely explore to dial the headset in to your tastes. However, as I said earlier, they just sound good. Full stop. Everything is detailed, clean, with minimal distortion, not tinny, not muddled. Good. Ultimately, I really like this headset, and I think it would be an easy purchase for most gamers. Very, very, comfortable, it sounds great, has nice features, and has a look I think many would appreciate. I feel like Sony put a lot of the good they have going on with their lifestyle WH-1000XM line into this. My only pause would be if you “need” the “best” mic, which this does not have.

Disappointing for the dollar

These simply aren't worth the money. If you're not well versed in audio to simplify why this headset is a dump: * The mic quality is abysmal at this price point. Not suitable for professional calls and people will notice when chatting online its that substandard. * The mids lack separation, sounds just blend together and it sounds so busy that you will struggle to discern one sound from the next. * They're not very conformable, the clamp force on these is deceptive and is uncomfortable. It doesn't breathe well and your ears will likely sweat a bit. * The connectivity is lackluster. The Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless are more expensive but offer significantly more connectivity and allow you to connect your PS5, PC and smartphone simultaneously with its included DAC. The H9 can only connect to the PS5 via dongle and a bluetooth device. So that means you can't hop on your PC to play a cross play game with friends and chat with them on console at the same time. Also if a call comes in you better be paired with it too. Some of you may be groaning by now, but ultimately for the money you may as well go with Corsairs headset instead as it offers better mic and sound quality for less or spring for the Steelseries which actually does something innovative when it comes to headsets. This thing would've been a hit if it released when the PS4 dropped (yes PS4 not PS5). Easy skip.

Please make sure that the microphone setting is set to [INZONE H9 - CHAT] in the sound settings of the computer. If the boom microphone of the headset is raised, lower the boom microphone and adjust its position so that it is near your mouth.
For sound quality issues, you can switch the settings and check the sound quality mode with “INZONE Hub”. When you want to prioritize the sound quality, select [Priority on Sound Quality]. Please follow this link for more details:

I can't hear anyone when i have them on. Just a muffled sound. It does suck when the battery is low it starts cutting out and having a static sound.

Amazing sound, horrible mic

Also the demo noise suppression was way better than the actual out the box headphones. Only thing good about the headset is the audio but for the price you can find on par for way less

Not worth it if you’re a PS5 player

I had the PS5 entry level headphones and sound wise theres no difference at all between them. You can’t even do any EQ adjustments on the PS, which is crazy to me. These are more for PC gamers apparently. I was really hoping you could change everything accordingly yo your liking but you cant. I would stick with the entry level ones if you are a PlayStation user, trust me.

The EQ feature of the INZONE headset is not compatible with the PS5. Thank you for the review and we're glad to hear that you like the sound quality of the headphones. We're sorry to hear what happened with the microphone of the headphones. If you connect the headphones to a computer, the Equalizer, Spatial Sound, Dynamic Range Control, Game/Chat Balance, and Microphone volume settings are active only when the headphones are connected using the USB transceiver with the USB transceiver switch set to PC. These settings can't work when they are connected with a Bluetooth connection. We recommend using the INZONE Hub to adjust the microphone volume of the headphones.
