Despite the problem, we are glad that you are satisfied with the very comfortable fit & lightweight design, exceptional sound quality, available operating time, great Bluetooth connection, and overall performance of the headphones.

For your issue, as part of normal operation, you cannot use only the left unit of the headset when Service Link is turned on from the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. However, you can use only the right unit of the headphones. And depending on the assignment of the touch sensors and/or the Voice Assistant setting, you may not be able to use only one unit of the headset. Thank you for the purchase! We're glad to hear that you like the comfortable design of the headphones. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Technically you can use only one unit of the headset. You can remove one unit of the headset from the charging case and use the unit by itself.
In this case, only the unit that has been removed from the charging case will turn on. Thank you for choosing Sony!

Also, keeping the sound output holes clean from dust or earwax helps maintain optimal audio performance and noise cancelling functionality. Noise cancelling performance can also vary depending on surrounding sounds, as the technology is most effective at reducing consistent ambient noise and may not eliminate all types of background sounds.

For Bluetooth connection dropouts, wireless earbuds can sometimes experience brief interruptions due to interference from other devices or obstacles between the earbuds and your phone. To help minimize connection issues, ensure your device’s firmware is up to date, keep the earbuds within range, and reduce sources of wireless interference when possible. For persistent issues, resetting the earbuds or re-pairing with your device can also help.

Hi castle013, We are so glad to hear that you are happy with your purchase! The Linkbuds comes with different earbud tips to match the size of your ears. If you feel like the right size might fall off, twist the headset unit to slide the earbud tip deep into your ear canal. If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, tap operations or Speak-to-Chat speech detection may not work correctly, or you may not obtain the correct sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performance.

Please note that the size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.

If you are still having difficulties, the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.

As for the Speak-to-Chat function, the Speak-to-Chat mode activates when the headset detects the speech of the person wearing the headset, but in rare cases it may activate in response to vibrations caused by devices such as electric toothbrushes, electric massagers, and electric shavers, or by activities such as brushing your teeth, coughing, or humming. In cases where the Speak-to-Chat mode frequently activates by accident, set Speak-to-Chat to “L Sensitivity”.

We're sorry you've been running into difficulty. The LinkBuds S comes with different sizes of earbud tips to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. Please use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold. And, to ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection".

The headphones also feature Multipoint connection. You can switch the multipoint connection (Connect the headset to 2 devices simultaneously) on/off setting in the Sony Headphones Connect app. For your reference, visit the help guide link below.
