I wish there was a little more base but then again I wish that for all earbuds. The sound is exceptional, good equalizer to change how you want it via the app, More one touch command options than I would ever use. These are pretty hard to beat I've used several. Good job

The noise cancelling is fantastic. They are light and comfortable. They're extremely easy to set up and pair with your phone. My only complaint is the right headphone discharge is just slightly faster than the left. Sound quality is amazing along with microphone quality.

They fit my ears well and sound great. They block outside noise better than any other earbuds that I have owned. Remember to enable LDAC in Android settings for Connections-Bluetooth to get the best quality. I haven't tested the battery life fully, but it seems to drain a lot less than other brands.

Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the LinkBuds S. It's unfortunate that the battery is not working properly. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).

Resetting and initializing the LinkBuds may also help resolve the issue:
-Resetting the headset
1. Set one of the headset units into the charging case. Leave the lid of the charging case open.
2. Press and hold the reset button of the charging case for about 20 seconds or more. After about 15 seconds, the indicator (orange) on the charging case flashes slowly for about 5 seconds. Then, the indicator on the charging case turns off and the headset will be reset. When resetting is complete, the indicator (orange or green) on the charging case lights up for about 3 seconds to show the remaining battery charge of the headset, and then turns off.
3. Check that the indicator turns off and then release your finger.
4. Remove the headset unit from the charging case and start the operation again from step 1 with the other headset unit.
-The device registration (pairing) information and other settings are retained. If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.
-Initializing the headset
1. Set the headset into the charging case. Leave the lid of the charging case open.
2. Press and hold the initialize button of the charging case for about 15 seconds or more. The indicator (blue) on the charging case repeatedly flashes twice in a row, and then the indicator (orange) starts flashing.
3. Release your finger within 5 seconds after the indicator (orange) on the charging case starts flashing. When the initializing is complete, the indicator (green) on the charging case flashes 4 times.
-This operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the connected device and then pair them again.

Fatal flaw in battery

They are comfortable, have a nice sound quality, good bass, and excellent ANC. However, despite the battery life being decent, around the 1.5 year mark the right earbud NOSEDIVED. The left earbud functions completely fine, while the right earbud dies within 30 minutes from a 100% charge. This is a known problem among the community surrounding this device, some people struggle with the left earbud, some on the right earbud, but the story is the same, around the same time owning this device, one earbud with entirely fail on you. I love this device, and want to support it, but I can't. Reaching out to customer service gave me troubleshooting solutions and a referral to a third party repair service, nothing more since I was just outside the warranty window. They were polite and willing to help until they knew my device wasn't in warranty. I'm sorry but at $200 this device should last more than a year and a half, this is a fatal flaw in the battery, not normal battery decay you get with most devices. The community loves this device Sony, and I love your products, but you failed us with this one.

Very short lifespan

The functionality was smooth and the sound was quality. The microphone wasn't very good, but it worked. Now the battery doesn't last long enough for a song or a phone call. They're not even heavy enough to be a paperweight so I'm at a loss for what to do with these.

Thanks for sharing your honest review. We appreciate your feedback regarding the use of only one unit of the headset. The Sony LinkBuds S support the use of one unit by itself. This means they can be configured to only output sound to one earbud, while the other earbud stays in the charging case. If you want to use only one side of the earbuds (only the Left or only the Right), check that the earbud you want to use by itself is set to Playback control. Yes, these are expensive, but you can't go wrong if you want fine audio quality in an ear bud. I'm paranoid about losing mine. They do fall out of your ear easily. And these are small, so they are easy to lose.

Nose cancelation is also the best of the four here, with both stronger cancelation as well as a crisper sound while canceling loud noise.

I ended up giving my AirPods away after having these for an hour. The sound is so crisp on these and the bass is immaculate. The only downside is everything for these buds is done through an app. But if you can get past that these are a top of the line product. I definitely recommend. If you use Tidal as your music streaming service you can get 360 spatial sound.
