For the sound quality, if the LinkBuds are not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. If the part of the LinkBuds where sound is output is not oriented correctly toward the ear canal, the sound quality may sound poor or the left and right sound localization may sound misaligned. Having said that, we'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn your experience around by following the below troubleshooting suggestions.
If you feel the size of the fitting supporters does not fit your ears, change the fitting supporters to another size that fits your ears better.
The size of the left and right fitting supporters may be different.
Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears.
To wear the LinkBuds,
Check the (left) and (right) marks on the headset.
Check the position relation between the ear and the headset when you put the headset unit into your ear.
Hold the headset with your fingers.
Put the headset units into both ears.
Check if the headset is worn properly.

We are really sorry if the initial setup for our WF-L900 didn't live up to your expectations. This is definitely not the news we'd like to hear from you. For Bluetooth pairing and connection, you can actually use these LinkBuds without the Sony headphones Connect app- just like any other wireless headphones. However, we recommend downloading it as it includes all sorts of tools to fine-tune the WF-L900 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ for bass and treble sound. In order for us to be able to help you troubleshoot the issue, it would help to have a few more details. The all-new Sony LinkBuds feature a comfortable open-ring design that naturally blends ambient sound with digital sound. We recommended updating the firmware of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. The software update improves the general performance of the unit and includes key features, applications, and bug fixes.

If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. If the part of the headset where sound is output is not oriented correctly toward the ear canal, the sound quality may sound poor or the left and right sound localization may sound misaligned. The LinkBuds may also fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.

Medium-sized (M) ear fitting supporters are attached to the LinkBuds at the time of the purchase. If they are too big or too small, select a different fitting supporter to help the LinkBuds fit better and feel more comfortable. We recommend starting with the larger sizes and working your way down to the smaller sizes until you find the best fit.

For the open ear part, the WF-L900 LinkBuds features an Adaptive Volume Control- a smart function that automatically optimizes volume based on where you are. Enjoy lower volume in quiet places and higher volume in noisier environments. You can turn on/off this function from the Sony | Headphones Connect app. It also features Speak-to-Chat. If Speak-to-Chat is enabled in advance, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone. The headset pauses or mutes the music which is being played.
